Chapter 17: The Aftermath

Aizawa's POV

I knew these work studies would only hurt the kids. I mean five students have been unconscious here at the hospital for hours due to their injuries. Midoriya, Todoroki, Kirishima, Togata, and Amajiki. Not to mention the mental strain it's been taking on them. I sighed and went to Todoroki's room. She was asleep, but she was okay. I sat down and picked up the report of her injuries and began to read them out loud. "Broken ribs, broken arm, puncture wounds to the legs, one arm, and midsection. Note: spotted multiple scars along patient's body that looked old, couldn't have been from today. We checked the patient's records and there were no reports of any prior incidents that could've caused these scars, not even the burn on her forehead."

My mouth hung open. 'What? Not even her burn was reported? Does that mean that her brother's isn't either? But why? Those burns must have been severe. And where did the other scars come from?'

I kept reading the report, and my heart dropped. "The unreported scars are mostly burn scars, some of them look to be the shape of a hand?"

'Wait... no. He's the number one hero... There's no way... Unless...?' I glanced down at Todoroki's sleeping form and sighed, 'I'll have to ask her about it.'

Just as I thought that, Todoroki began to stir. Her turquoise eyes fluttered open and she looked around the room. She tried to get up but lay back down, groaning and holding her stomach. "Easy kid." I said.

"Mr. Aizawa?" she asked.

I nodded and asked, "How're you feeling?"

"I'm okay, how's Eri?" she asked.

"She's okay, but she's been unconscious since we brought her here and has a fever." I replied.

"What about Midoriya, is he okay?" she asked.

I chuckled and said, "He's okay, and so are the rest of your classmates." 

"How about Nighteye?" she asked.

My heart dropped a bit. "I'll take you to him."

I picked her up and set her down in a wheel chair, seeing as her legs were still injured. "Let's get Midoriya while we're at it." I said.

She nodded and we went to Midoriya's room. I gave him the same explanation and he walked alongside Todoroki, asking her how she was feeling since she was more injured out of the two of them. We got to Nighteye's room and saw a large amount of people, Bubble Girl, Centipeder, even All Might. All Might saw us and said, "Young Midoriya, Young Todoroki. It's good to see that the two of you are alright."

"All Might?" Midoriya asked.

Todoroki looked into the room and saw the state Nighteye was in. She gasped and tried to get out of her wheelchair, only to fail and fall on the floor. "Y/n!" Midoriya cried, kneeling by her side.

He picked her up and gently put her back in the wheelchair. The doctor came in and explained the situation. Nighteye was lucky he survived for even this long, and he's unlikely to make it through the night. Midoriya wheeled Todoroki into Nighteye's room even further with All Might following them. All Might and Nighteye made amends while Midoriya pleaded with Nighteye to stay alive. Nighteye then said how Midoriya changed the future. He glanced at Todoroki and said, "You too, kid. I know that the two of you are going to become great heroes in the future."

Togata rushed in and started crying to Nighteye, pleading with him to live. Nighteye then used his Foresight on Togata and told him he was going to have a bright future and to keep smiling. And as he said that, the machine flatlined. I saw the hurt in my students' eyes. It was heartbreaking to see.
