Essence

It felt damn good to be walking out of these prison gates after a whole two years of being locked down in this hell hole. I had my black trash bag in hand as the guards escorted me out of the facility so that I could finally rejoin the world that I once knew 2 years ago. I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face as I walked out of the women's correctional facility. It felt good to be free without guards watching my every move. Free at last, thank God, I'm free at last.

My once short shoulder length hair had grown back to the middle of my back and it swayed in the summer's air. The sun beamed down on my body as I walked further out of the place. Once I reached the parking lot, I placed a hand over my eyes to shield them from the sun so that I could sew properly. My eyes searched desperately for Money, but he was no where in sight. I took a deep sigh as I dragged my trash bag behind me. Money was always late, he'd be late for his own damn funeral if he could.

I turned my back and headed over for the bleachers to sit down and wait, but I didn't even make it before I heard the beep of a horn. A grin took over my face as I spun on my heels and turned towards the cocaine white Range Rover that was parked right along side of me. I figured it was Money, so I took off towards the truck. I was shocked when Bianca stepped out, but I didn't stop running. Seeing someone I loved and that loved me was enough to run for.

"Oh my God Ess," she shouted as she ran towards me in the 6 inch stiletto heels that adorned her feet. Those didn't stop her though, she was damn near sprinting towards me.

We met each other half way and embraced each other. I dropped my bag as I wrapped my arms around my best friend since grade school. This girl knew me more than anyone else did. Tears fell down my cheeks as she held onto me tightly. It felt damn good to finally breathe fresh air and to just get a hug from family. My tears fell down and landed on her clothes, so I pulled away. That's when I noticed she too was crying.
