Experiments (Fem Hange Zoe x Fem Reader)

{I know Hange goes by many different pronouns however for this one shot I would like to write them as a female. This is because i'm used to Hange being a female in the anime and I was finding it difficult trying to write Hange in a different perspective. I hope you can understand <33}

"Y/nnnnnnnnnn!" Hange bursts through the mess hall doors and sprints over to your table. Your sat eating breakfast with the other captains, including Levi, who visably recoils when he sees Hange running towards you all at full pelt.

The soldiers glance at Hange as she runs past but don't stop to stare for long as breakfast is only for a limited time and by now they are used to Hange's weird antics.

"Y/n!" She leans against the table, panting due to all the running. "I need your help! It's with an experiment!" She lean towards your face her cheeks flushing in delight at the thought of experimenting.

"Why don't you ask Moblit?" You say glancing around looking for the man that is usually attached to Hange at the hip.

"Moblit's fallen ill and is in the sick bay so I have nobody to help me with my experiments." She says pouting. "I thought all hope was lost but then I realized...I have you." She says her eyes lighting up mischievously.

"Not gonna happen." You say firmly before taking a bite of your buttered bread.

"Oh come on! I checked your schedule and your not busy until the afternoon and I'll be done with you by then." Hange pleads giving you her best puppy eyes.

You keep your eyes trained on your bread and ignore her knowing that if you look up you'll instantly give in. Levi heaves a sigh and rolls his eyes at Hange before grabbing his empty breakfast tray and leaving the table.

Hange quickly steals his spot and trys to catch eye contact with you. "Pleaseeeeee y/n..." She begs pulling on your arm. "I thought you loved me more than that." Hange says removing her hand from your arm. You watch as her face crumples into a look of dismay.

Your face creases into a pained look and you finally give in to Hange's constant pestering. "Ok fine...I'll do you experiment." You sigh giving her a hard look.

"Yes! Haha, I knew that would work! C'mon let's go!" Hange crys her demeanor instantly changing as she jumps up and drag you after her. You half jog after Hange as she drags you towards her office which is full of lab equipment.

When you arrive at her office an odd aroma circulates the air and you notice Hange has set up a microscope and has something in two jars that suspiciously smell like blood.

"So...what do you need me for?" You ask sinking into a chair behind her desk whilst staring at the jars which you are most certain are full of blood.

Hange walks over to her desk, leaning on it, before loudly clearing her throat to speak. "As you may or may not be able to tell these, she indicates to the jars, are full of blood. Now you may be wondering how have I got this much human blood? Ah...well that is where you are wrong. This is not human blood as such...but titan blood." She giggles evilly and you can't help but wonder why you decided to married her in the first place.

"Now my love, this blood is from no other than my most loyal test subjects, Sawney and Bean." She points to each jar in turn. "I would like to test the properties of titan blood to see if they differ from humans and each other and see if we can figure out their origin based on the properties within their blood." Hange says smugly.

"That's where you come in!" Hange exclaims excitedly. " I would like a sample of your blood. If you may..." Hange says bringing out a small pocket knife and laying it on the desk before you. You gawp at the knife and then stare at Hange inturn.

You look at Hange's excited face and let out a deep sigh before picking up the knife. "The things I do for love..." you shake your head in disbelief and then slowly draw a short line on your forearm with the knife. You wince at the minimal amount of pain and stare at the growing spot of blood on your arm.

Hange grabs a clean slide and uses a pipet to suck up some of your blood before placing it onto the slide. They put the slide under the microscope and chastily kiss your cheek before examining its contents.

You delve into one of her drawers and find a first aid kit with some plasters. You put one on and sit patiently, waiting for Hange to finish examining your blood. She twists the dials, constantly increasing and decreasing the magnification before hurriedly grabbing some paper and a pencil and scribbling down what she sees.

"Come look." Hange beckons you over and you peer over her shoulder and into the eyepiece. You can't really see much as Hange's head is in the way but you spot some red disc like shapes.

You look at her drawing which is annotated in great detail with many notes written by the side. Her drawing includes things like bacteria and protozoans which you couldn't see when you peered in but you just roll with it.

"Cool isn't it." Hange says her eyes lighting up whilst scribbling down notes. You just smile and nod, glad to be making her happy although it's safe to say you won't be attempting to take Moblit's job anytime soon. Hange experiments on Sawney and Bean's blood which is considerably thicker than yours and after some more scribbled diagrams, labels and notes she comes up with a conclusion.

"So after experimenting the properties of all of your bloods, i've came to a conclusion. Titan blood has the exact same qualities as human blood does however it seems to be much thicker. This is due to the immense amount of blood clots they have as they are constantly taking energy from the sun. Blood clots usually kill humans as it blocks the oxygen from travelling around the body however titans have no need to breathe to survive so it doesn't affect them at all." Hange says stroking her chin thoughtfully.

"I'm surprised your blood is so similar." She says folding her arms. Sawney and you both have type A blood whereas Bean has type AB. You and Sawney's blood are a perfect match." She says readjusting her glasses and looking up at you.

"Please don't say I perfectly match a titan." You mutter and shake your head. Hange laughs and you help her clean up and sort out her equipment.

"I didn't really learn anything useful...just interesting facts." Hange says as she puts away her things. "Oh well! You never know if it will come in handy in the future." She says putting the tubs of blood into the back of a cupboard.

"If I have the same blood as Sawney does that mean I can use Sawney's blood in a blood transfusion?" You question.

Hange freezes in thought and after a minute she looks up at you with a devilish smile. "Wanna test it out?"

"No thanks." You say hurriedly. Hange laughs and you smile at her cheeky antics.

"Of course I wouldn't risk my beautiful wife that quickly." Hange says smiling over at you.

"For some reason I highly doubt that." You laugh and wrap your arms around your wife's waist. "You could feed me to a titan and I think I would still love you." You grin.

"I love you too." Hange grins pressing a long hard kiss against your lips. You both laugh and as you've finished early you decide to make your way towards the sickbay to visit a disgruntled Moblit and ask him if he's willing to do a blood transfusion with Bean.

You interlock your hand with Hange's and you both race across the yard like young child to pester Moblit. The wind whips your hair and you laugh as the cadets stare at the two of you in confusion.

"Their both nutters..." You hear a cadet mumur to his friend. You and Hange burst into peals of laughter and carry on your childish antics all the way into lunch, where Levi takes one look at the two of you and immediately leaves the mess hall.
