present day
I sat in my hospital bed all alone. This was not the vacation I had planned. I had never thought of ending my life before and I didn't understand what came over me. I just kept walking and walking until the water came over my head. When I was under the water I felt free. Free of my burdens and responsibilities of life. Yet I also felt sad, I wished that I could take it back. I wanted to be alive to see Namjoon again. I didn't say goodbye. Then everything went back. The next second I was in the sand spitting water out of my mouth and gasping for air. I saw light and people around me. People I had never seen before. I was confused. I was able to give them Namjoon's phone number and then I was taken to the hospital.
I hate hospitals, they are stark white and cold and they remind you of death. The sight of people waiting to see their dying loved ones is sad. But there is also the joys of new life, or the burdens of new life. Hospitals have too many emotions.
I heard my nurse come in the room.
"Hi Tori! I'm glad to see you awake. How are you feeling?" She said as she came over to me to replace my fluids bag.
"Oh I feel fine, just a little tired, that's all." I said rubbing my eyes.
"We'll you're a little dehydrated so we are going to give you some more fluids and you're low on iron so we'll get you some potassium." She started messing around with the cords and the medical instruments. She quickly exited and came back in with another fluids bag and hooked it up to me.
"How about we get you something to eat. Would you like some graham crackers and apple juice?" She asked while heading to the door.
"Sure, thank you." I replied while giving a soft smile.
"I'll be right back." She left the room and I was alone again. My throat felt sore and I felt as if I needed to cough a little more. The nurse came back with my graham crackers and apple juice and I ate them happily. It felt good to eat something after having not eaten anything for several hours. I sat alone for awhile until I heard a knock on my door.
My nurse came in and said, "there's someone here to see you." She exited quickly.
I heard heavy footsteps near my door and then I saw Namjoon.
"Oh Joon!!" I immediately balled my eyes out and threw up my arms so he could hug me.
