Song Recommendation - Bad Liar (Imagine Dragons)
A/N - 100 READS! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
George had his favorite coffee order, a mocha frappe with extra whipped cream, next to him. He had barely touched it, because it looked so pretty with the chocolate drizzle and cookie crumbs. The brunette couldn't bring himself to ruin it's unusual beauty. That was something Dream had taught him to appreciate. He may hate the blonde now, but even he knew that sometimes bad people have good advice.
After staring at it for a couple moments, his mouth began to water. Fuck it. It's just a frappe. A really, really good frappe. He grabbed it, pushing his breakfast croissant aside.
He opened the book he had with him, but didn't start reading. He had picked up a random book from his pile in the library, and hadn't bothered to read the title.
As he sipped the frappe, he looked around. He'd been to the rustic cafe numerous times freshman year, with Dream. So often, in fact, that the workers actually knew them by name at one point. This was the first time George had been to the cafe this year. He actually found it... comforting. Like this was one of the places he could still bare to be, even after everything that happened with Dream.
The door opened and the bell rang. He set down the frappe gingerly and looked up to see a short brunette with a bandana enter the cafe, sweating into a white towel.
And a tall blonde with a green T-shirt came running in shortly after.
He immediately averted his eyes back to his book. Don't look my way.
"Hey Dream! I want a cookie, a chocolate croissant, a fruit smoothie, a large black coffee, a—"
"Woah, slow down. First of all, you don't even like black coffee," Dream said, and George could basically hear Sapnap's eyes roll. "Second, how many miles did you just run?"
Sapnap groaned. "Five."
"Yeah, s'what I thought. You're getting a smoothie. I don't need you keeling over dead."
"Aww Dreamie cares about me." Sapnap said, trying to hug Dream. Dream backed away from his sweaty friend, so Sapnap instead made a heart with his hands while plastering a goofy grin on his tired face.
"Oh, no, it's not that I care about you, it'd just be really hard to find a new roommate."
"Too much paperwork?"
"Yep," Sapnap and Dream both nodded at each other knowingly for just a moment too long had they not been friends, before bursting out into a fit of giggles and wheezes.
They ordered, and George thought he had avoided an encounter, before looking up to take a sip from his frappe and locking eyes with Dream.
Shit.
"Hi George! What're you reading?"
George lifted up the cover of his book. "The Nightingale," he said. George's eyes widened as he came to a realization. He was reading Dream's favorite book. Dream was going to wonder why he was reading that book, he was going to think George had a crush on him, he was going to—
"Oh, that sounds cool. What's it about?" Dream had turned the book towards him and was reading the inside cover.
"I— wait, you don't know it?"
Dream shook his head. "Nope," he said, popping the P.
George waited a second for Dream to finish reading the paragraph on the inside of the book. Dream pushed it towards the stunned brunette, looking at him with the slightest blush dusting his cheeks.
