Song Pairing - Dandelions (Ruth B.)

(just an FYI the lyrics are the important part, I included them so you don't have to rush, just read at your own pace 😘)

"You ready, Georgie?" Dream called to George.

"Almost, I can't get this stupid tie on." George grunted in frustration from the other room, causing Dream to chuckle.

Maybe it's the way you say my name

"I don't understand your reasoning for getting dressed in a different room," Dream said, leaning against the door. Sam passed by, holding a beer in one hand and his cap in the other, nodding a greeting at Dream.

I've never known anybody like you

"I'm... embarrassed. I'm not fully 'decent,'" George mumbled from the other side of the door.

I've never dreamed of nobody like you

"It's nothing I haven't seen before." George  banged playfully at the door once.

I've heard of a love that comes once in a lifetime

And I'm pretty sure that you are that love of mine

"I- you're an idiot," he laughed.

"I'm your idiot, Georgie."

'Cause I'm in a field of dandelions

"No, you're my dream," George corrected. My dream come true.

Wishing on every one that you'll be mine

"Well, you have a point. I can't be that much of an idiot. I graduated, after all."

I see forever in your eyes

"And you wrote half of a published book," George praised.

"Well, you wrote the better half. You're the one signing them tomorrow."

"That's because you wouldn't put your name on the cover! 'With help from Clayton Block' in tiny lettering on the back isn't enough!"

Wishing on dandelions all of the time

Praying to God that one day you'll be mine

"Babe, I'm going pro, you can have the books and I can have football."

George scoffed but he knew he wouldn't win the argument. "Whatever."

Dream's phone buzzed in his back pocket. He opened it to see an incoming phone call from Orange County Jail. His father. He pressed ignore.

George groaned. "Damn this tie."

"You've been in there forever, I'm coming in," Dream said, and before the brunette could protest, he had opened the door to George, standing in front of the mirror without a shirt, fumbling with his tie.

I think that you are the one for me

"Dream-"

"Why did you... take off your shirt?" Dream started laughing.

'Cause it gets so hard to breathe

When you're looking at me

"Because I thought it'd be easier! Now get out-"

"Georgie, I've seen you naked. It's fine," Dream said, smiling and taking the tie into his hands. "Lucky for you, Micheal taught me how to tie a tie when I was eleven. We were going to my Aunt Minx's wedding." They chuckled and fell into a comfortable silence.

George's hands found their way to Dream's sides. He stared at the blonde. The taller boy had long eyelashes, a defined jaw. Beautiful, sparkling eyes. George had gone over these features a million times. He was the luckiest person in the world, to have someone so beautiful and kind as his boyfriend.

Dream fumbled with the ends of the tie, flipped the over each other, until he gently pulled down and let go. "Finished!" Dream smiled and George looked down at the tie around his bare neck.

"Wha- how??" George took it in his hand and shrugged on his shirt with the other. "This- this is witchcraft! A conspiracy against me! I'm suing you!"

"Come on, Georgie. I'm just better at everything than you," Dream teased. "And I'll always be here to tie your ties."

"What about our wedding?" George said, holding up his left hand, showcasing the silver band on his ring finger. "We can't see each other that day. What, are you going to tie my tie a day in advance?" He feigned an interrogation of the blonde.

I see forever in your eyes

"That's the one time that Wilbur will help you instead," Dream smiled, hugging his boyfriend.

Dream held him for a minute before pulling away, plopping his cap on his head and pulling on his gown over his suit. "Now, let's get this show on the road," he said, and took George's hand in his.

George put on his own cap and gown and scoffed. "That's such an American thing to say."

Dream planted a kiss on the top of his head and they made their way out of the frat house, ready for the new chapter awaiting them.

Dandelion, into the wind you go

Won't you let my darling know?

Dandelion, into the wind you go

Won't you let my darling know that-
I'm in a field of dandelions

Wishing on every one that you'll be mine, mine

And I see forever in your eyes
I feel okay when I see you smile, smile

~Epilogue~

Dream and George had gotten an A on their book at the end of sophomore year, and Professor Phil had urged them to find a publisher. They did and with the help of family and friends, they got it published and it became a bestseller. George was given all the credit, starting his career as an author. Dream proposed over winter break of senior year.

George got one of his own books published and although his YouTube channel took off, Dream stopped posting regularly on it and went into the NFL right out of college. They got married and live half an hour from both of their family's houses, next door to Wilbur, his wife Sally and their son Fundy, and Cara with her girlfriend Niki.

Dream and George are adopting twins, Alyssa and Ponk, in a few months.

Idk how to do epilogues.

I've always sucked at ending things, but I hope the epilogue wasn't as bad as I think it is :) I honestly don't know how to make it better, tho

I probably won't be making another fanfic unless y'all really want me to, but I will definitely be rewriting this eventually.

Anyways, thank you so much for reading it all the way through, listening to my rants at the end, watch me struggle and strain myself, but it was all worth it in the end. I made something I'm proud of and I made something that helped me get better at writing, and that was my goal since the beginning.

Thanks again for sticking around, please go share with friends and vote, do whatever you want, and I'll see you in the next one.

Love ya.
