Song Recommendation - Warrior (Beth Crowley)

A while later, after everything was paid for and the cafe closed, George and Dream walked to a popular lookout peak just off campus, talking with each other in the chilled evening air, watching the lights of Georgia go to sleep. Dream is sitting with his back against a tree, looking up to George for probably the first time ever.

Dream let out a heavy breath, choosing his words carefully. "So, how did we become friends freshman year?"

"Well," George began, "we started talking one night in the library."

"I know that," the blonde said. "Sapnap was my roommate that year, too."

George furrowed his brows. "No, we were roommates."

Dream copied George's confused expression. "But I remember Sap as my roommate."

George giggled. "I thought you didn't remember anything."

Dream chuckled nervously and looked down, slightly embarrassed.

"Dream, Sapnap and you have been friends since high school."

Dream looked up to meet his eyes. George noticed how sad his eyes seemed.

"You... really don't remember?"

"I've had some memories in my dreams but they've all been..." Dream glanced at George. "pretty cryptic and unclear. And I guess a little incorrect."

"I see."

"So, we were roommates?" Dream sighed, adding, "Why did I think Sap was my roommate?"

"You could be confusing your memories? You share a room with Sapnap now, right?"

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense." Dream said. And suddenly, he remembered the vague and obscure dancing dream. He snapped at the brunette, the sound echoing quietly. "Hey, did we ever go dancing?"

George tensed. "You remember that, huh?"

"I guess? Not really. I remember you got, like, a coupon? In a raffle."

George nodded and looked up at Dream, searching for emotion. He saw a small smile creep onto the blonde's face.

"All I remember is, you wore a dress. It was..."

George began quietly hyperventilating.

"Beautiful on you."

George's heart stopped, mouth dropped open. Dream sighed and glanced to the brunette.

"Sorry... t-that's all I remember." The blonde said, dropping his gaze to fidget with his sweatshirt zipper.

"Dream."

"Yeah?"

There's a sniffle that escapes the brunette, causing Dream to stop toying with his clothes and look up.

"I'm so sorry."

George was crying, his lip quivering and body shaking violently.

Dream stood up and rushed to the shorter boy's side, bending down to his level and placing his hands gently on his shoulders.

"Hey, hey, you're okay. I'm okay, it's okay..."

"You're not okay, Dream!" George yelled in his face, crying harder. Dream guided him to the ground, sitting them both down. "I took your entire life away and then blamed you for it!"

Dream touched a hand to his face. "You didn't do anything, Georgie."

George bunched up his skirt in his hands and pulled brutally. "You wanted to stay! You wanted to stay, you idiot!"
