The night held them in a loving embraced. They were the darkness and all the life it held. Feared and forgotten warriors of old. Not good, not bad, but somewhere in the grey.

Jin and (y/n) meet the other nightblades outside the inn. The sun was still high and bleeding a wonderful light into the busy city. The walk was long. The group would have to travel all most the entirety of the third kingdom. Dove port dissolved into smaller towns and villages along a large dust road. The road would take them so far before they would have to split off away from the public. And when they came to that point, it brought the joy of changing from everyday clothes into their black robes.
(y/n)s new robes fitted like a glove. The black fabric held her body close and brought a new pride, but there was still drumming in the back of her mind. An underlining worry that kept echoing around in her head. Shiro's words plagued her. What had he meant? Why did he finish her training so early? (y/n) knew she still had a long, long way to go. Her skill level was nowhere near the boys. Yet now, she adorned the same black robes.
Once she was fully dressed and repacked her bag, she noticed a small white butterfly emerge from some flowers. It darted around for a moment before landing on her chest for a brief second. She watched it fly off and hover around her head until it disappeared into the trees.
"Got a new friend?" The unexpected sound of a voice made (y/n)s skin jump. She whipped her head round to find glare at the culprit. Hoseok stood there with a small lift to his lips. The void of life around him coming into her presence. "They suit you," Hoseok spoke again, nodding towards (y/n)s new clothes.
"Thanks. It's a bit soon, though. What do you think? I'm not sure if I should have got them yet," Hoseok walked forward to reach (y/n). He placed his hands on each side of her face forcing her to look up at him. "I'm sure Shiro wouldn't have given you them if he didn't think you were ready,"
(y/n) still looked unsure. Her eyes were big as she stared into his eyes. He watched her face intently, trying to find the reason why she seemed to feel so undeserving. He watched as she bit into her lip. Her teeth ground at the delicate skin until it was red raw and starting to peel away. With a sigh, he used his thumb to force the breaking skin out of her teeth. His hand then snaked around her head, pulling her into his chest.
"Please don't worry, your good, your good to be a nightblade,"
(y/n) listened to his words of comfort as they reverberated from his chest into her heart.
"You got to trust Shiro, ok, you got to trust me," Hoseok whispered words of comfort as he held (y/n) close to him, doing his best to reassure her.
"Maybe he thinks Doeksus coming for him,"
"Maybe," he let down and placed his lips on the top of her head, speaking into her hair. "I hope not,"
"Me too," (y/n) sighed as she pushed at Hoseoks chest, breaking free. She offered a sad smile as she picked up her bag and threw it on her back. "Come on, the others are probably waiting,"
Hoseok took her hand and walked them out from the threes onto a dirt path that cut straight through the forest. The likelihood of bumping into anyone in the woods was low. At most, they would see a woodcutter and his family, but they when to keep quiet.
