Alarms were going off, but what could she do. (Y/n) was halfway between pulling her hair out and letting the ground swallow her whole. Perhaps, the best option was to wait until the second Lord came and let them burn her body with the wood - it would solve more problems than one.
How stupid could she of been? It was insane to think that they would ever help her. She had drugged and left them. Of course, they were going to be angry - it would be more insane to think they wouldn't. Yet here she was, sat under a tree with a splitting headache with no one but herself to blame. Akira will lose his head - the kingdom will fall apart. And it was all her fault. She shouldn't have let Akira think she was the fix-all to his problems. She shouldn't have made a deal with the Island as means to leave. She would off been better off staying there in ignorant bliss, pretending that her old friends still cared. Or perhaps she should have never left at all.
The hoot of an owl burst the silence. (y/n)s broken eardrum screamed at the noise. It swooped down and landed on a nearby tree branch. She stared daggers at the bird. It had reminded her of the throbbing in her head where Jimin had swung at. Her ear rung and rung. "Go away!" She spat at the bird. It completely ignored her - for some reason, that made her feel even worse.
The owl ruffled its feathers and turned his back to (y/n). The classic owl shape lost in the exaggerated ruffling of feathers. His beak clacked, and the stiff fidgeting of his feet was almost enough to make (y/n) forgive the creature, but (y/n) held it in, not wanting to let go of the spite.
She watched the bird still on the branch, she wanted to be alone, but it wasn't letting her.
"Please just go." She pleaded. Her voice was small and trembling, verging on the lines of tragedy. It was a little tragic, an owl had mangled to reduce her to pleading. It didn't move again. (y/n) felt frustrated, dry tears started to form. She gasped at the dirt and flung it at the ground in the direction of the bird. It didn't deter the bird as she had hoped, only now she had made the mistake of using her injured hand.
She forced down a scream as she felt the mud and grit enter her wound. The nerve the world had to leave her in the ditch to coiled about herself. She curled up on her legs, gripping her wrist with her other hand and bitting into her knee as the stinging began. Oh, how pathetic she felt. A rustling sound came from a bush as something moved. (y/n) looked up from her curled position. The owl was sleek and smooth again, its head twitching from right to left as if unable to decide the best angle to view his prey. In moments it swooped down and had a mouse in its claws.
Silly mouse would have been better off staying still, so would she, (y/n) thought. Now they were both in a mess too big for them to fix. Turning away from the bird, letting it eat unwatched, she reached for the water in her bag and began rising out the cut. Jimin might not realise it, but he had almost killed her, or maybe that was his intention. Either way, the blade had gone deep into her hand. It wouldn't have taken much more to go all the way through and into her throat.
