Hoseok's senses slowly awakened as he lay motionless. He couldn't remember diffing off, but he could feel the pale blue light dance on his eyelid as he refused to open them. Sunrise must be nearing.

Heavy breathing filled his ears; they had all fallen asleep. As he lay there, eyes closed, Hoseok became acutely aware of the subtle shift as the mattress moved beneath him. There was a distinct rustling of fabric, a gentle tug against the stillness, as he felt (y/n) crawl over him to the edge of the bed. He remained still, letting his sense bleed out across the little tent. Reaching out tentatively, like tendrils seeking warmth in the cold embrace of the night. He let it crawl over to the girl; her presence felt more substantial than last night, but it was still weak.

Heavy with sleep and curiosity, he opened his eyes and settled his gaze upon (y/n). Her figure was silhouetted against the soft hues of dawn that seeped in through a slender gap in the canvas. He watched as she slipped into the clothes Yoongi had brought over. Tugging the sleeves of the thick shirt over her arms. His watch lingered on the subtle play of muscles beneath her skin, tracing the contours of her shoulder blades as they rolled with each movement. The inked patterns adorning her back shifted with each movement.

As (y/n) turned, her eyes locked onto his, but there was something peculiar about them. Glazed, almost resembling glass, yet devoid of any overt signs of distress. A slight tremor rippled through her body as she drew her knees closer, resting her chin upon them. He couldn't discern any traces of panic, fear, or unease in her demeanour. Instead, she exuded a quiet calmness, as if she had accepted the storm raging within her and found a measure of peace amidst the chaos, as though she had retreated into herself deep enough where he couldn't pick up on her sense.

Subduded, Hoseok thought, was the most fitting word to describe her state.

"What did you take?" Hoseok's voice rumbled through the room, still hoarse and rough from sleep, his concern evident in his brow furrow. (Y/n) shifted slightly, her gaze unwavering as she met his eyes. The dim light filtering through cast shadows across her features, accentuating the lines of exhaustion etched upon her face.

She shrugged her shoulders. "The lady who runs the medical tent gave me something to help me sleep," she whispered, barely above a murmur.

Hoseok's voice, softened by sleep and concern, wrapped around the room like a warm blanket. He shifted slightly, his gaze softening as he looked at the figure beside him. "Why are you awake then?" he asked, the gentle hum in his words conveying his concern.

"Cold."

Hoseok couldn't help but feel a smile tug at the corners of his lips, heat spreading through him despite the chill in the air. He felt a soft breath of warm air brush against his skin as he suppressed his laughter,
