“First, we need a few more people. Ones with different personalities that complement each other. And I want to open this to people with weak quirks or quirks seen as villainous.” Izuku started, peering over the detective’s shoulder.

“All very good points, but what about opening it to one other person. One with a powerful quirk, that’d make our message clear. But we’d need someone kind, and someone who sticks up for others.” Naomasa added, names running through his head. “What about that other kid, Bakugo?”

“No, he doesn’t match that description by a long shot.” Izuku immediately shut the idea down. Naomasa nodded, not wanting to pry, it was already a relief that Izuku agreed to work with him on this. He didn’t want to make him work with someone he’s uncomfortable with.

“Let’s get someone used for their quirk, a person who knows the pain of people being quirkist.” Izuku mumbled out. Naomasa nodded along, this kid had the same thought process as him. “Ah- but I’ll only agree if,” Naomasa felt a pit in his stomach form, was this kid gonna hustle him? “We get everyone in the group therapy!” When Izuku finished, Naomasa felt the pit decay. And suddenly he burst out into a smile.

“You’re a good kid, Midoriya.” Naomasa ruffled Izuku’s hair a bit. And Izuku felt pride blossom in him. This was the first time he’d been praised, well, the first time it wasn’t empty. Empty praises like ‘you’re so strong Izuku’ came from his mom. Sure it made him not want to give up, but it also made Izuku feel like he couldn’t tell his mom about his troubles.

Izuku felt tears brim his eyes. “Thank you, Tsukauchi.” His voice wavered, and he turned to wipe his tears away. Naomasa paused, wondering if he did something wrong. When he deduced that the tears were caused by pure happiness Naomasa felt pity. No, pity wasn’t the word, he didn’t know how to describe it. But it made him want to pull Izuku into a hug.

“You can call me Naomasa, after all, we are going to be business partners soon.” Naomasa could only give Izuku the right to call him by his first name. Izuku teared up more, being seen as an equal made him so happy.

(OKAY SO, in case anyone doesn’t know, in Japan and a couple other countries I think, people call others by their last name. And only people close to them can call them by their first name (Family members or close friends.)

“Why are we here, Endeavour.” Shoto muttered out, it was a question but sounded more like a statement.

“We're here to drop this criminal off.” Endeavour pointed to the knocked out villain, her outfit nearly burned off. And her hair charred to her shoulders.
“More like a corpse..” Shoto whispered out, glancing at her face. She was knocked out but half her face was burned. She had stolen a car, not committed a murder, yet he still burnt her half to death.

Shoto pushed the door open, the smell of drugs hit his nose. Along with the febreeze used to mask the smell. Of course, the smell of drugs was brought in by the criminals. Shoto pushed the smell to the back of his mind.

Shoto stepped to the side, almost as if to let Endeavour in. But as soon as Endeavour took a step into the police station, Shoto let go, the door closed on his face. In hindsight it was a risky move, but Endeavour’s reaction was priceless. And worth any of the punishments he’d get later.

And a bonus! Endeavour started shouted at Shoto in the police station, therefore ruining his reputation even more! Shoto did have to admit he was terrified, he had already given him a broken rib and a skull fracture this past month. But his face remained unphased. That is, until a certain teen stepped up to his ‘father’.

“Can you please shut the fuck up?” Izuku whispered, not wanting anyone to hear him. He still had his snapping points, and seeing the number 2 pro hero yell at an innocent teen passed the line. Izuku had common sense though, so he only whispered. Letting only Shoto hear him.

“Listen, the police are very busy, so if you could stop shouting and teenagers that have done nothing wrong that’d be great.” Izuku forced a kind smile. His eyes gave away a glow that his real emotions slipped through. The passive aggressive tone was something that surprised Naomasa. So far Izuku has been nothing but sweet and cooperative. Though Naomasa could understand why Izuku snapped.

“What.” Endeavor, or Enji, demanded. I guess asking questions is something unthinkable to the Todorokis’. Izuku closed his eyes, his smile slightly twitched. And he repeated his statement.

“So unless you want your reputation as a ‘amazing’ hero to be ruined you can continue yelling.” Izuku put quotation marks around amazing, to signal he was being sarcastic. “Or … you could always leave that villain here, and this boy.” Izuku signaled to Shoto, something Shoto found startling. Not only did Izuku have the balls to talk back to the second rated pro hero, but he also protected Shoto. Endeavour dropped the rascal down, and she hit the ground hard.

(Wait no-)

Endeavour placed a firm hand on Shoto’s shoulder. “If I leave, so will he.” Naomasa took this as the time to step in. He saw Izuku stand up for complete strangers, or perhaps he knew this was Endeavour’s son. He’d have to inquire about that, but for now he pushed that thought to the back of his skull.

"Well now, it isn't very appropriate to keep Todoroki away from kids his age.” Naomasa put a hand on Izuku’s shoulder now. Smiling at Endeavour passive aggressively Endeavour kept his hand still, his glare unwavering. After all, in his eyes, Naomasa was just a useless detective.

“Besides, I think it’d do him good if he saw what happens in the station.”  Naomasa took a hand to Shoto’s other shoulder. Keeping eye contact, Naomasa seemed to challenge Endeavour to try something.

“I have things to do, let’s go, Shoto.” Endeavour tugged at Shoto’s shoulder, trying to drag him to the door. Shoto slipped out of Naomasa’s grip, and left the station.
