chapter 3: a whole new training

naruto was confused on what she meant and the woman in front of her could tell

"do you remember calling out to the name misaki when you were younger and dreaming about a great winged beast" she asked

"that's you but i thought" i trailed off

"you were imagining things no i am misaki i am the bonded that you named and to answer your question that's coming" she said as a bright light shined from her to reveal i giant black and white winged beast

"i am a dragon and you are my rider" misaki said telepathically to me it was then i noticed the saddle on her back and the bridle on her snout and then my mind processed what she said

"rider me" i said a little scared

"yes little one it is your birthright i should mention physically you and i are the same i age i hatched the day you were born we were supposed to grow up together as a proper dragon and rider but circumstances changed the way things should be may i ask who is she" misaki asked

"i am the masters shinki, suzume" suzume said

"shinki i thought they all died out with their gods when they went extinct" misaki said this shocked suzume

"oh i see what you were a nora stripped of all her names weren't you" she asked nora nodded

"i thought so this is what happens when a nora loses all of their names they are transported to an entirely different plane as we were all those centuries ago" misaki said

"um can i ask you something miss misaki" i asked politely

"just misaki naruto were bonded this means we are as close as family and ask away" misaki said cheerfully trying to lighten the mood

"right you said your the same age as me right then why are you so i don't know wise i guess is the best way to put it" i asked

"ah good question it is simply how we dragons are even as hatchlings we are wise beyond our years" misaki said

"oh okay i understand then" i said

"good now naruto on my back i have been dying to fly with you for years you should have stared to learn to fly with me when you were three" misaki said at that i was a bit more hesitant

"naruto" she growled

"yes" i asked in fear

"on my back now or i will carry you in my claws" she said i was even more afraid but i slowly walked towards her and she put her head in front of me

"before that though i need you to brace yourself then touch me it's important" she said i gulped then breathed in and out and prepared myself for who knows what was about to happen and i let out my right hand touching her snout and i felt an ice cold chill run through my arm as it numbed then the feeling vanished i looked at my hand and saw something etched into my pawn

"that is the gedway ignasia or shining palm the emblem of the dragon riders of which you know lead it will be your responsibility to name new riders and continue your clan" misaki said i nodded in understanding

"now, you, back" she said and my previous fear returned i walked to the saddle

"your forgetting something" she said i looked at her in confusion and she tossed her head which flicked the reins

"what are those for" i asked

"directing me in flight it has been learned the hard way that trying to direct with your mind is not the safest so take the reins and i'll teach you how to use them as we fly" she said i nodded and he grabbed the reins and slowly tried to climb onto her back he wasn't succeeding

"something else you need practice on" she grumbled he should have started learning this three years ago but she wasn't mad it him no she mad at the circumstance suzume seeing her master struggle moved to his side cupped her hands and naruto knew what she was doing he placed his right foot into her hands placed his left foot into the stirrup as she through him upwards the moment allowed naruto to climb over and into the saddle wherein her could barely fit his feet into the stirrup but his feet definitely didn't reach the base

"are you ready" she asked the moment she was sure he was comfortable in the saddle

"no but let's do it" i said in dread misaki enthusiastically spread her wings and jumped into the air this simple movement nearly through naruto off her back entirely something she quickly realized when she felt him bounce the saddle by this point he had let go of the reins and was holding onto her neck for dear life she sighed this was what she expected since he was still to young to properly ride her that was the point he would have been trained with professionals of the clan who could help her in watching over him but since they were all dead she cursed her own bad luck after getting a good altitude she leveled off and began to gently glide through the air

"it's okay now your safe i promise that even if you fall i will catch you i won't let my bonded die not by me at the least if not at all" she said in a comforting tone naruto could hear laughter in his mind from his four tenants of which he ignored he sat up in the saddle

"please grab the reins again i at least want you to get used to holding them while riding me" misaki said i did as she asked

we flew for about an hour before she turned toward the village not really caring for their panicking over her presence she landed just in front of the hokage tower with naruto's arms yet again around her neck the moment they were on the ground he immediately jumped off which kinda hurt her but she hid it well she understood his fear he was still very young with virtually no assurances other then her own which wasn't alot

"good now that your here let me introduce myself i am tatsuya uzumaki your uncle" tatsuya said
