I climbed out of my Audi, trembling. I just screamed my lungs out. This weekend I managed to win it all. Only 4 points to the champion. I was second, so close to first, in my first season in this series.

I was shaking my head, not being able to stop it, while climbing on the top of my car, which I had just parked in front of the #1 board in parc fermé. I laid down on it. My fifth win of the season, what a way to finish it.

After a while, still in trance, I jumped down, running into my team member's arms, all of them cheering. I felt two arms just under my butt lifting me up in one smooth movement, I opened my visor and looked down on my manager who smiled as widely as he never did before.

Everyone cheering around me, myself included, he carried me all the way to the podium.

I quickly took off my helmet, finished a bottle of water in one sip and adjusted the winner's cap to my head. Marco and René, finishing second and third, also congratulated me, and later showered me in champagne.

Being only vice champion surprisingly didn't bother me one bit. I was only 18 and a rookie with no experience in any GT series, with very tough competitors and in an inferior car.

Even when heading to the hotel two hours after the celebrations, I was still full of adrenaline.

I was just pulling of my champagne-soaked racing suit, sticky all over even now only in my underwear, when I heard someone lock the door to the room. I turned around, and instantly started to melt away at those dark blue eyes locking with mine.
