I woke up before my alarm, but not on my own. Something moved on top of me. Flint managed to rotate in his sleep in a way where now his head rested on my stomach, his left arm hung over my hip, his right hand just casually resting on my chest. When I realized what was happening, I couldn't help but chuckle quietly. My moving belly woke him up, and still drowsy, he looked at me, trying to figure out what was happening.

The day went by agonizingly slow. At noon, we had our last team meeting, going over our strategies once again, and Jamie selected a few journalists for the pre-race interviews.

He found the right ones to be allowed to interview me, not one of them asked a wrong question and everyone was very respectful.

The last moments I had alone in my room half an hour before, I spent getting dressed and singing quietly to distract myself from the tension building up in my body by the minute.

All dressed up and ready, I sat down on the floor, pulled my knees to my chest and closed my eyes.

I was whispering.

„Ich wünschte so sehr, ihr wärt jetzt bei mir. Ich werd da oben so viel zu erzählen haben."

(I wish you'd be able to be by my side right now. Once I'm up there I'll have so much to tell you.)

*MATT* You and both Williams are the only ones on hards, most midfields are on softs, so expect them to box soon into the race.
Let's do this, Suvi.

*ME* Copy copy.

Every part of me tried to keep my lungs from breathing too heavily. The formation lap was torture, I felt my insides twisting with tension and excitement, to the point where I thought I would throw up into my helmet. It only stopped when one red light after the other went on. What happened next felt like a pov race start in time lapse, in a blur.

My start was flawless. I quickly saw and took the gap to the middle, already placing me in front of Perez and alongside Hülkenberg into turn 1. I had the better exit, so it felt almost easy to pass him as well. When I catched a glimpse in my right mirror, I realized Nico and myself overtook Sainz while battling for our positions, putting me right behind the Renault of Daniel.

Despite the slower hard tires, I managed to hold on to my position.

*MATT* Amazing work, currently P8, Hülkenberg 0.9 seconds behind,
yourself gap to Ricciardo 0.6. If you can hold position, hold it,
but don't push, we're still on strat A.

*ME* Copy, now pssshht.

It would've been easy to stay right behind Daniel, but it was not as easy with Nico pushing behind me, he already had me defending and using the tires too much to my liking.

By lap 12, Daniel pitted.

By lap 13, Matt advised me to let Nico by, as he had more pace and at this point, I was just blistering the tires, so I made the decision to let him overtake me.

By lap 18, DRS was enabled, and as bad as it hurt me to do so, I also let Bottas by, as he was in DRS range and I wouldn't have been able to defend in a fair manner for long anyway.

*MATT* Currently P5,
Hülkenberg just pitted.

*ME* What, how are we
P5 right now????

I cringed. I should've known I had gained a few places due to the frontrunners pitting.

Two laps later, I saw a Ferrari behind me.
