A New Kind of War (part 1)

The shuttle ride was quite quiet. Arc was piloting the ship while Reyes sat in the back with the king. Kuat was still about an hour away and the commandos had already sent out the beacon saying they were ready. Arc made his was to the passenger area to check on the king and admiral after setting the ship into autopilot.

The two were locked in a game of Dejark. Reyes was winning but Arc couldn't tell if it was from skill or by luck. She still had most of your creatures while the king was down to his last two creatures. Within a matter of moments Reyes had beaten the king. The king sat back as if he had been losing for awhile while Reyes let out a small cheer.

"That makes it what? Three to zero?" Zeroh asked.

"Try six to zero your majesty." Reyes replied.

The king let out a long sigh.

"It seems the time of peace in my kingdom has caused my military mind to grow dull." Zeroh said.

"I'm sure with time your majesty it will comeback." Reyes replied.

"Maybe so but in the mean time why don't you play the captain. Surely the captain is more strategic than I." Zeroh explained.

"I'm sure he might be but the captain has never played Dejark." Reyes replied.

"Why would that be? It's a very famous game." Zeroh stated.

"With all due respect your majesty I don't think you understand the purpose of the clone trooper program." Arc said.

"Then enlighten me captain." Zeroh replied.

"The clones were formed and prepared for war before the war even started. We rushed to the Jedi's aid in the first battle of Geonosis and are now the back bone of the republic. Our life was created for war. Not to play a game." Arc explained.

"Think of it this way captain. This game is a whole nother war you've never experienced and from this game you can learn your about strategic capabilities." Zeroh countered.

Arc thought about it for a moment and then sat down across from Reyes.

"A new challenger. How exciting." Reyes cooed.

"This can't take long. I still have to fly us to the meeting cite." Arc stated.

"It won't take long dear captain." Reyes replied.

To no one's surprise, Reyes had beaten Arc in a matter of minutes but as Arc learned the game the matches became longer till both players were almost in a stalemate. Arc was trying to decided what to do next when a beeping noise came from the cockpit.

Arc stood and made his way to the pilot seat and sat down. Arc definitely wasn't as skilled as Jetter but he know what he was doing. The ship dropped out of hyperspace as the planet Kuat was in front of them. The planet Kuat lay out in front of the ship with its multiple shades of green with dotted spots of blue scattered across it. Surrounding the entire planet was a metal ring that had multiple ships being built in different parts of it. Arc recognized some of the ships being built.

Arc saw venatures being built along with a few acclamator and smaller republic ships. Though Rothana handle most of the republic's smaller fleet ships.

"Republic shuttle. State your business here." A voice said through the ships comm system.

"This is captain Arc of the 100th legion. I have admiral Reyes and King Zeroh of the planet Yuka Prime on board. We have a rendezvous with a group commandos here." Arc explained.

There was a moment of silence before the voice came back.

"Your clear for landing. Head to bay seventeen." The voice ordered.
