Arc stood aboard his flagship The Taxer which was now transporting him to Kamino to go under trial for attacking the Hutts without consulting the Republic. While he feared the trials he was more concerned about Jetter. His fighter was shot down and he was taken prisoner.
Wheeler walked up behind him and cleared his throat and then waited for Arc to turn around. After a few moments Arc turned to face his sergeant.
"Captain...we're approaching Kamino. The boys and I...we've been assigned to escort you to the trial." Wheeler explained.
"First my ship becomes my cell and then my squad becomes my prison escort. Ironic." Arc muttered.
"I'm sorry it's come to this sir." Wheeler said.
"The price of war. You fix a problem without approval and you become the villain." Arc replied.
Reyes stood silently by also on trial for not over ruling Arc on invading Tatooine. Though why she hadn't said anything confused Arc, it almost seemed as if she wanted this. Finally the crew called out that the Taxer was exiting hyperspace. The sight of a large fleet in front of a giant blue planet filled the view port as fighters made their way over.
"Sir...it's time to go." Wheeler said as he laid a hand on Arc's shoulder.
"Right." Arc replied as he turned to find the others of his and Wheeler's squad there...all but Jetter.
Arc and Reyes were lead to a gunship which was piloted by Haze and Fireball who sat silently. The gunship upon first glance looked normal until you noticed it had a hyperdrive. This was one of those modified gunships used by those pirates. The sound of the fighters escort talking in the cockpits was clear but something didn't seem right. Their were hushed conversations in between transmissions.
"Plans a go sergeant." Haze called out.
"Prepare to jump on my mark." Wheeler replied.
"Delay that." Arc ordered. "We aren't running."
"But sir, can't your really be going to do this." Scout protested.
"I am and I'll get out of this." Arc replied.
"How?" Doc asked.
"I haven't figured that part out yet." Arc muttered.
"It's to late to do anything now. We're passing through the blockade." Fireball called out.
"I hope your right sir." Wheeler said after a sigh.
"Quite commendable captain. Your men were willing to become traitors to the Republic for you." Reyes stated.
"We're all we have besides the Republic. Once the war is over what happens to us?" Arc explained.
"A mystery shared by all clones I presume?" Reyes asked.
"Yeah, we were bred for war." Arc replied. "What happens when the war ends and everything is peaceful?"
"A question for another time I suppose captain." Reyes said as the sound of rain stopped on the gunship.
The doors opened to reveal the hangars of the Kamino city. Clones walked around while pilots tended to their ships. Cadets were lead around given tours of the city and its different rooms. Normally a fascinating sight but today it seemed almost mockingly.
Arc remember his times as a cadet, the hours of training for his first deployment. The sound of lasers and explosions and the sound of dying brothers and droids. Ships crashing around him, droids falling at his feet, and his brothers falling beside him.
"Captain!" A voiced called.
Arc began looking around for the voice but it didn't make sense. The only people around were his squad. But they weren't at Geonosis, they would have still been receiving training.
