the groom's suit.

the bride's dress.

the food.

the venue.

everything was according to the plan for the wedding day—

except i am not the bride.

i let her walk down the aisle,

with the dress i've been dreaming of,

with the wedding i've wanted,

and with the man i've loved.

jake was smiling, with tears of joy threatening to fall down his crescent shaped eyes.

he's happier than ever.

"do you take sim jake jaeyun as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"

"i do."

"do you take kim chaewon as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"

"i do."

what a perfect wedding.

"you may now kiss the bride."

and so the perfect bride and the perfect groom sealed off their love in front of everyone they made memories with.

i looked around, and to the two upfront.

a smile curved up to my lips as i pictured everything in my mind—

a memory i'd like to take with me one last time.

if i can only take one memory to the great heavens,

i am sure it would be this moment

so, this is how it ends?

everything is in its right place.

everything is at the right time.

everything is alright now.

and only i, the wandering soul, is left to do what's right.

i feel no more sadness or disappointment.

i was no longer regretful and frustrated to not have lived longer,

to not have the chance that god has given to somebody else—

to not have loved jake for a lifetime.

hmm, perhaps this was my personal unresolving.

to finally see my man,

happy and content in life— is a sight i only got to see right now.

i feel my body numb as i look at my limbs disappearing to thin air.

i slowly walked towards jake, who stood alone in the middle of the crowded place— and planted a soft kiss on his cheek.

"i'm happy for you."

i whispered one last time,

before slowly departing forever.
