Marnie's POV:
"hi?" I didn't know who this random guy was, why he was at my work and why he was greeting me like we'd known each other for years. "Marnie? it's me!" what. the. fuck. how did he know my name. I took a step closer to him, examining his face. then it clicked. it was the guy from last night. what. the. fuck. why was he at my work? "um, hi. Luke, is it?"
"yeah, it is." he looked a little sad that I didn't remember him as much as he remembered me. I mean, I didn't think he'd remember me at all, let alone just randomly show up at my work, asking for me. "you look beautiful," he blurted out and then his cheeks went pink and he looked at his feet. I giggled, although I actually felt quite self-conscious as I wasn't wearing very much makeup, and came round the counter to meet him. he liked up at me. "thanks," I smiled up at him. he was towering over me as I was quite small and his gigantic size kind of emphasised that. his hair was styled into a quiff but his eyes were loaded with dark bags yet his irises still looked as bright as they did the day before.
"so uh, where do I start?" he chuckled awkwardly. I smiled and placed a hand an my hip, popping my leg out slightly. "you can start by telling me why you're here" I smirked. he just looked at me sheepishly, his cheeks tinted with a pink hue. "well, basically. I woke up and you were the first thing that popped into my head so I took a shower to try and forget and then I coul so I stalked your Facebook and it kind of, well, lead me here I guess," he bit his lip and looked down at me. I smirked, now knowing that I was the first thing he thought of when he woke up. "um, ok well that's not stalker-isn at all," I laughed.
he blushed. "I'm sorry."
"no, Luke. it's cute," I put a hand on his arm.
"so, can I have your number?" I wanted to give it to him, but I couldn't. my head wouldn't let me. "um, I nee to get to work, I'm sorry." I turned to walk away but he grabbed my wrist. "look, please, I promise if you give me your number, I will make you proud you did," he smirked. I couldn resist. "on one condition,"
"anything, lovely."
"you buy a coffee and give me a fat tip." I smirked and yanked my hand out of his grip, attempting to play it cool when really, it felt like a herd of elephants was being released into my stomach. he smirked, also and whispered "deal." before coming to the till, behind me.
Luke's POV:
she was inticing, kept me on my toes. she was interesting and she seemed complicated, like a rubix cube not like all these other simple girls; they were all as boring as paper. I irederd my drink and she went about making it and I wat her butt jiggle as she had her back to me. it was a cute butt I have to admit. she came back to the till with my order and smiled. "$4.25"
"here ta go," I ahnded her the money and took the coffee cup.i pressed a $5 tip into her hand and shot her a toothy grin. "can I have your number now?"
"you already do." she smirked and shoved me out the door. I stepped out onto the pavement and written on the coffee cup was her number and a note next to it saying 'you have toothpaste on your chin ;)' I felt my chin and there was this white stuff in my thumb after.
this.
girl.
