I know they’re played by the same actor, but this was too good of an opportunity to give up-

Lafayette and Hercules were walking down the hall chatting with each other. They were on their way to a meeting neither of them was looking forward to. This was typical for the two, they had a way they did things. ‘Get as much talking time as possible on the day of the meeting. When you actually get there, fill the silence while waiting for the meeting to start. When the meeting does start, half pay attention while you scribble things down on an empty sheet of paper.’

That was the way Laf did it, for Herc it was practically the same except he would have to listen and fill Laf in on everything that happened. He was a good friend like that. Unlike everyone else in the business who wouldn’t be caught dead doing that. No one actually pays attention to what’s going on, they just jot down whatever it is they managed to hear. That and the Topics.

It was basically that one class where the teachers do nothing but talk and everyone pretends to listen when in reality, they’re actually just doing their own thing. That was the equivalent how meetings would go.

“This meeting going to suck-” Laf began to complain, he wasn’t looking forward to this meeting. Though, in fairness he never looked forward to any meeting. “It’ll be fine, you survived the rest, you should be able to get through this one.” He answered with a roll of his eyes. Truth be told he wasn’t feeling up to it either, but one of them had to be mature about it.

“But I have to give these out at the start because petit lion asked me to.” He gestured to the stack of papers he was carrying. This caused Herc to raise an eyebrow, he was certain that Alexander had to be at this meeting as much as them, so why would he pass that responsibility on to Laf? And of all people why Laf? He’s the least likely to do it even if he does agree. “Why couldn’t he just do it himself?”

“Ah, family issues.” Herc blinked, he couldn’t be serious. “He better have been talking about Burr because if not, that would be a stupid excuse.”

“Yes, he was talking about Burr.” He nodded. “How about I help you go through it before the meeting starts? Just in case they ask any questions?” He suggested, hoping it would make Laf a bit more on bored with the whole thing.

Laf seemed to brighten a bit. “Really?” He asked hopefully. He hummed, taking a sheet of paper off the top of the stack, scanning through it. It wasn’t that hard to understand really, you just had to be willing to put the time into it.

(Why do I always make Herc the serious one? It doesn’t make any sense! He’s basically Madison at this point-;-;)

Laf beamed and smiled brightly. “Merci!” He leaned over and kissed Herc’s cheek, which caused a small smile to appear on his face. “You’re welcome.”

The two continued for a bit, going through the document as they walked. It was all going well until they bumped into a certain Virginian. Or, more accurately, until Laf bumped into a certain Virginian. Herc just watched as it happened.

Laf stumbled a bit, taking a few seconds to regain his balance. He looked down at all the papers that he had previously held, scattered on the floor. He groaned, bending down to pick them up. The man in front of him stumbled a bit as well, holding onto the wall in an attempt to regain his balance. Next to him, a small man was making sure he was alright. Herc knew him as James, he hadn’t the slightest clue who the other guy was though.

Bending down, he began to assist Laf in picking everything up, pleasantries could happen later. “Goddamn it. Could you watch were you’re…” The man trailed off, staring at Laf in disbelief.

He let out a huff, standing up, subconsciously dusting himself off. He now held the papers in his hand, glancing at Herc as he also stood. As neither of them said anything, he took it as his que to apologise. He cleared his throat, “I am sorry for bumping into you.”

Only now had he looked up, slightly shocked at the sight in front of him. Herc glanced between the two, eventually moving over to stand next to Madison. “Who’s he?” He folded his arms, slightly surprised as to how neither of them has said anything yet.

Madison was simply rocking on his heels, hands clasped behind his back. “That’s Thomas Jefferson. Who is the other one that looks identical to him?”

“That’s Lafayette, a walking entity of sass.”

“And here I was thinking that was Thomas.”

Alright so- I was working on this one but I don’t know what to do about it. I was hoping that perhaps you all could give me ideas? Maybe? You don’t have to but it would be appreciated.
