He hated it. He hated himself, and everyone around him. Sideswipe muttered under his breath as he wandered around the place the Autobots were staying at. They had been moving from base to base and he was getting tired of it. He just wanted to stay in one place for Primus sake! Sideswipe clenched his fists as he walked around the corner of the hallway, finding himself alone. Quickly, he pulled out his smartphone and opened up Instagram. Most of the posts he saw were of (Y/N), an 18 year old with the body of a goddess (not in a creepy stalker way!). He's followed her for who knows how long now, and enjoyed the pictures and videos she posted. The only downside was that she was Lennox's niece. Sighing in annoyance, Sideswipe put his phone back in his pocket and walked back where everyone else was despite wanting to be alone for the rest of the day.

The following morning, the Autobots were up early like usual the following morning. Sideswipe leaned against the far wall away from everyone else, wanting to be alone. No one had bothered him yet, so he was gonna take advantage of it. Gaining his attention, Sideswipe looked across the room as he heard Lennox talking normally loud. What he wasn't expecting was to see a young woman with brunette hair standing next to him up on the balcony of the base; the balcony the humans use to talk to the Autobots face to face. Sideswipe narrowed his blue optics as he tried to see who exactly the girl was. He'd never seen her around before, but she looked oddly familiar. Widening his optics, he realized this was (Y/N), Lennox's niece! The red mech couldn't help but feel excited to finally meet her, not realizing his excitement shone through his facial expressions.

The soldiers nearby scoffed and started mocking Sideswipe for his adoration over the young girl. The red mech didn't even notice as he made himself look presentable. Throughout the entire day, everytime Sideswipe tried to approach (Y/N), everyone around him would intentionally make him stumble over his words, make him a nervous wreck, or just make him look like a complete fool in front of the brunette. After the third day of this, enough was enough.

A soldier had made Sideswipe fall to the floor, and that was the end of his patience. He brought out one of his guns and aimed it at the soldier.

"Do that again, I dare you!" He shouted angrily, glaring at the human with a hard, cold gaze.

Optimus looked at Sunstreaker with a stern gaze, expecting him to do something about the situation. With an annoyed sigh, the yellow mech walked over. Grabbing his twin by the neck cables, Sunstreaker led his twin towards the brig, doing his best to hide his annoyance as his brother struggled in his grip. Sideswipe stumbled as he was pushed into the holding cell. He glared back at his twin brother.

"You'll regret this." He spat out.

"Sideswipe, you need to learn to control your emotions. Everyone is tired of your behavior towards (Y/N) and it's become an annoyance to everyone." Sunstreaker said seriously, unfazed by his twin's anger towards him. "You can come out once you are calmed down."

Sideswipe watched the yellow mech leave. He glared at the wall before kicking it as hard as he could, leaving a nice dent in his armor and leaving a small paint transfer on the wall. Sighing in frustration, the mech sat in the far corner, staring at his lap in thought. After what felt like an eternity, the doors to the brig opened and in walked the familiar brunette. (Y/N) sat in front of the cell Sideswipe was in and watched him quietly for a moment before saying anything.

"What happened out there, Sideswipe?" She asked softly, her gentle brown eyes holding no anger or judgment in them.

He didn't say anything for quite a bit. Only when (Y/N) got up to leave did he speak.

"You saw what happened..." He spoke softly.

(Y/N) looked back at Sideswipe and sat back down. "I did, but why did it happen?" She asked softly.

Sideswipe chuckled bitterly and shook his helm slowly. "You want to know why? The past few days, I've been trying to approach you. But everyone would watch and do something to cause me to look like a fool in front of you." He explained seriously.

(Y/N) nodded slowly, watching the red mech closely. "I believe you." She whispered.

This caught Sideswipe off guard, looking at the human girl in surprise. "You do?"

(Y/N) giggled softly and nodded, smiling. "Yeah. I'm not surprised that's what they've been doing to you."

Sideswipe nodded quietly. (Y/N) smiled and went to say something before her phone vibrated in her pocket. She pulled it out and looked at the notification before sighing.

"It's Uncle Lennox. I have to go." She says and stands up. "I'll see you tomorrow though."

"Alright." He says with a nod, watching the teenage girl leave for the night.

The following morning, Sunstreaker walked into the brig to check on his brother, surprised to see how calm he was in the cell.

"Learned your lesson?" He asked seriously.

The red mech nodded. "Yes, now let me out please."

Sighing, Sunstreaker unlocked the cell door and opened his for his brother, watching as the red mech quickly ran out of the cell.

"Sideswipe." Sunstreaker said in a warning tone.

"I know!" He shouted back and calmly walked into the other room, looking around for the brunette.

Much to his displeasure, (Y/N) was nowhere to be seen. Trying to hide his disappointment, and ignoring everyone's looks, he went outside for some fresh air to try and distract himself.

"Sideswipe!" (Y/N) yelled.

He looked around and saw the human girl running towards him. Without a second thought, Sideswipe transformed and activated his holoform, rushing to (Y/N). What he wasn't expecting was for her to jump on him in a hug. He hesitantly hugged back, a small smile growing on his face as he let her go.

"Look, I know we haven't talked much and been around each other, but I wanted to let you know that I like you." She said quietly, her chocolate brown eyes sparkling with emotions.

"You like me?" He repeated in shock, earning a nod from the girl.

Sideswipe smiled and hugged (Y/N) tightly, afraid that if he let go she'd disappear. From that day forward, the two were inseparable. They would do everything together, and eventually started dating despite Lennox's disapproval of it. The two were just happy to be in each other's arms.
