SHADOWS POV (at the doctors)

I sat in the waiting room, tapping my foot. Generic royalty free music played over head.
I couldn't have given it to him. I'm the ultimate life form. I consoled myself.

Yeah you can, you just can't die from it. Sonic on the other hand....
"UGH!" I grumbled, putting my head in my hands.
The door creaked open.
"Sister Shadow? Shadow the hedgehog?" A woman asked.
"That's me," I answered wearily.
"Come on in"

I hopped on the examination table.
"So what seems to be the problem?"
She asked. I blushed, this felt so personal.
"Well, I've been frequently having headaches and I constantly feel nauseous. I also have a sore throat that I just can't seem to get rid of."

"Hmm. I see." She said thoughtfully, while scribbling down notes.
"Do you mind taking some blood tests?"
"Sure- I guess," I said reluctantly.
I sat in the chair as she took checked my blood sugar, then put a band around my arm, slowing my circulation. She then put a large needle in the middle of my arm, sucking some blood out.

I squeezed my eyes shut, fighting back the urge to say the Lord's name in vain.
When I opened my eyes, I caught a glimpse of the vile of blood.
"If you're willing to pay extra, we can have the results back in an hour." She said.
"That's fine. My insurance will cover it." I said. She nodded.
As she walked out of the room, I sat in silence. I used the time to pray.
——————-1 hour later———————————

When the door opened again, the woman looked at me solemnly.

"I'm sorry to tell you that you've been diagnosed with mono."
I closed my eyes and grimaced. Just as I had suspected.

"Do you have any ideas on how I could've gotten it?" I asked.
She shrugged.
"It's most commonly spread by saliva. Some examples would be things like kissing, or sharing drinks."
I pondered for a moment.
It couldn't be kissing, because I've devoted myself to Jesus...
GASP
"The wine!" I exclaimed.
"P-pardon?" She stuttered.
"The wine! The blood of Christ that we drink at the convent! We all share it after consuming the bread of life!"

" I see" she said with a puzzled face.
"Well I'll speak to the leaders of your church and tell them about how contagious mono is."

"Thank you" I replied graciously, though I felt even more sick then when I had entered.

I couldn't risk Sonic catching it. Though it was hard when he was my roommate.
I would just have to stay as far as possible.
