3rd Person POV:

"oh my god alya i'm freaking out, i can't do this" Marinette heavy breathes as she prepares for patrol with chat .

"marinette! everything is going to be fine, you said so just go talk to him, come back and give me the miraculous." Alya tries to reason with her bestfriend having a panic attack .

"i mean no what if he resents me forever because i replaced myself and he thinks he's still unneeded and-" she walks back and fourth until alya puts both hands on her shoulders .

"he loves you okay! he knows you need him !" she shakes her, but mari stays a bit frozen, she knows he's in love with her but it can't really stand. It's weird knowing someone really loves her . Actually does .

though she doesn't feel the same way, atleast she thinks she doesn't, it still feels nice and she feels awful about it, feels like she's taking advantage of him when a lot of other people would be so lucky to have him .

"marinette, transform, you've got this" alya smiles, as mari transforms into ladybug for the last time in a while, a hard pill to swallow.

"hey" chat noir creeps up next to ladybug while she's leaning against the railing of their favorite roof top, looking at the ground, wondering how much longer until he'd be there.

"hey" she smiles to face him, "you okay? you've been acting a little weird lately and i'm a little worried but don't yell at me if i'm wrong i know you can be emotional or whatever but-" he's cut off my ladybugs laugh at his rant

"yeah i have been acting weird kitty, we need to talk" she sniffles, unprepared for whats about to happen .

"oh my god did i do something, i'm so sorry i promise i won't do-" he's cut off again, "no! no of course not, you're perfect, just listen" he nods as she begins to talk, choking up, stuttering, trying not to show how she really feels .

"so when i was 15, i told" she stays frozen before continuing to comment, awaiting his reaction , "i told alya cessaire, rena rouge, my identity" she looks down at the floor, afraid for what he'll say.

"oh phew" he chuckles a little, "i told someone too and i was so scared you'd get mad but i know you didn't want to know until after" he almost breathes a sigh of relief until now.

"wait so you aren't mad? because that's not the worse part?" she tries to make sure he's really okay .

"yes m'lady, i know it got a little rough at times especially as guardian, we all needed someone" he smiles, she breathes in relief.

"i'm sorry i didn't tell you first" a small lively tear rolls down her face, "hey, it's okay" he wipes the tear with his thumb, she feels a familiar heat rush up her cheeks .

"okay now i'm going to tell you what's wrong, you promise to just listen?" she gets ready , "of course" he nods, "and you trust me?" she asks not expecting his non hesitative answer "yes, always" he instantly replies .

He didn't have to think about it, he simply knew because he's still here today.

"okay so ..." she pauses, "you know how hawkmoth knows Alyas identity?" he nods in response, "umm well, a couple days ago, she got a little note" she pulls out the note from her yo-yo and hands it to him .

"oh my god" he scans it carefully, rightfully assuming who it's from .

"so i came up with a plan, and i know it's the only way, and i need you to be okay with it" she sniffles.

"i'm going to give alya my miraculous, temporarily, until he's defeated" she just says it all in one piece, he just nods to her surprise then she continues.

"and i know you've been feeling neglected for a while and i never want to make you feel like that again, you're needed okay? i wouldn't have been able to be here today if it wasn't for you" she smiles at him a little watery eyed .

"and i'll be helping both of you on the sidelines, alya will explain more further once the next akuma strikes, but i'm not going to be gone ill still be helping you two, but in civilian form" she sniffles a little .

"and i know it will all be fine because there's a ladybug and chat noir of the future , i know we'll defeat him and it will always be us against the world" she smiles

he stays frozen, processing everything at once, he knew she didn't need his opinion, this was happening whether he was okay with it or not .

that's when he took her in his arms and wrapped her in his warmth, she, a little surprised buried her face into his chest .

"when i'm not there to see it, will you smile , for me ? just so i know you aren't completely miserable" she chuckles, "yeah" he nods and hugs her tighter, as she pulls away she non intentionally leans in a bit .

their four heads pressed together, breathing a little heavy, hearts pounding .

they stayed there for a moment, a little hopeful something could've happened, but chat knew better as she hesitated a bit before placing a small peck on his cheek, leaving him a little red .

"i'll miss you" chat hugs her back into his arms, a little teary himself as she joins him in waterworks .
"alya is going to be great" he tries to comfort her , letting her know she made the right decision.

"and i don't want you to worry about me or how i feel about this, because i trust you more than anyone in my entire life" he wipes a tear pulling away from her, the sinking feeling in his chest trying not to come out more than it has.

He knows he'll see her again, but he's never been away from her for more then a week .

the only thought giving him hope, the next time they see each other, they'll no longer be blind to each other's presence, they'll reveal their identities. They won't be strangers for much longer.

"thank you chat, and alya has something for you, you'll get in the next battle, i hope you like it" she smiles up at him before leaving .

"and hey" she pauses as the air is flowing in her hair, "try not to fall in love with anyone else while i'm gone" she chuckled as the small tears rolled down her face .

Leaving chat frozen, watching her figure fade in the distance.
