So, hello there fellow fans who are still in this fandom after 3 years! This is a brief and important 'manual' for this book.
As I said, this is a multi-choice book following the story trough the eyes of GK 700 — the android you control — so your choices will have consequences, and depending on them different endings. But since this is a book and not a game, I had to leave quick-time events out (tough I don't think any of us would miss them).
Since I haven't figured out how to redirect you to the corresponding chapter of your choice, you'll have to go there manually. I know it's not that convenient, but I don't know any other method. So to make up for this, I will title every 'chapter' with a number and the choice you choose to make things a little easier. Here are some examples, but please refrain from peeking!
1. FRIENDLY for [X] FRIENDLY
One more thing, connecting to these manual choices. There will be options and dialogues that unlock further, often beneficial options and dialogues marked with an '(UNLOCKED?)' — just like in the game. And since I can't assign which choices redirect where, I'll have to ask you to be conscientious, thus the ?. Only choose options that you've unlocked, to keep the story consistent. This applies to all choices, so please don't go back and choose another, nor look in the chapter list for possible outcomes! An example for these unlockable choices is along the lines of this:
[O] VIDEO GAMES (UNLOCKED?)
And lastly, always count your ⤴️ and ⤵️ signs, both with different charaters and sofware instability. This is extremely important, since you'll get your endings and important choices according to the total numbers of these.
Now you know everything to begin playing this story! This project of mine has been on my mind ever since I re-entered the fandom of this awesome game. If you wanna read more in this style, I highly recommend 'Detroit: The Accomplice' on ao3! It's so good, tough unfinished as of now.
