NEW OBJECTIVES:
  - help extract confession

Trucy did not need to look at the list in its HUD to know what it must do. The android moved from its spot towards the door, and it was about to place its palm on the lock interface before a harsh voice stopped it from doing so.

"And just what the hell do you think you're doin'?" Lieutenant Anderson turned to face Trucy. Since eye conact was a key gesture in communicating with humans, so the android looked back to the man. He eyed it with suspicion, just like Detective Reed who even took a step towards it.

"I am going to ensure we get an extraction." The android explained in a matter-of-fact manner, and did not wait for any agreement or opinion. It exited the room and retraced the skin from its hand as it pressed its palm to the interrogation room's lock, it opened without difficulties. When the door slid open Trucy entered without hesitation.

Connor immediately stopped observing the case file as its head snapped to the door where the GK700 stood. It looked from the other android to the one-way mirror that now perfectly reflected the almost empty room, then its brown eyes went back to Trucy, a frown appeared on its face. The female model did not wait for Connor to ask questions in case it felt it had to, it walked over to the RK800 and began observing the case file. Trucy coud still see the male model looking at it and the brief disappearance of its synthetic skin from its hand, but it eventually chose not to probe. Instead Connor sat down in the chair, and began analyzing the deviant who still stared at its hands. Eventually Trucy joined the other android, it stood by its side and watched the RK800 do its job.

Stress Level: 35%

"You're damaged. Did your owner do that? Did he beat you?" Connor began its interrogation with a simple deduction. However, this was far from enough to get the HK400 to confess.

Stress Level: 39%

So it reached for the file, while still watching the deviant for the slightest movement. It gently pushed the file closer to the deviant and opened it — revealing the pictures of the body of Carlos Ortiz.

"You recognise him? It's Carlos Ortiz. Stabbed, 28 times." Its voice was firm as it took the picture to show another one, where the murder weapon the text 'I AM ALIVE' was shown. "That was written on the wall with his own blood..."

Stress Level: 43%

Trucy kept watching the deviant with a blank, indifferent expression only androids could produce, but it could see from the corner of its vision Connor slightly narrowed its eyes. It had to apply more pressure if it wanted to extract a confession, the stress level was still not optimal.

"You don't seem to understand the situation. You killed a human. They'll tear you apart if you don't say something." The male model tried again, trying to earn a reaction by having the deviant face the consequences of its deed. Trucy expected the malfunctioning android to react to this, since deviants stimulated human emotions and humans were terrified of the consequences of their choices, but there was none.

Stress Level: 47%

"If you don't talk, I'm going to have to probe your memory." Trucy knew Connor had enough of acting gentle and patient, as its brown eyes hardened and its tone became cold, matter-of-fact. The HK400 reacted immediately to the threat, its LED turned red as it looked at the RK800.

Stress Level: 55%

"No!" The deviant cried out in despair, but it seemed it realised it had broken its way of resisting the interrogation, it paused for a moment. "No, please don't do that..!"

The GK700 watched as the deviant trembled, most likely realising it could no longer stay silent. Its LED returned to yellow as it saw Connor made no movement to do as it said, its eyes moved from the stoic face of the RK800 to meet Trucy's, who in return looked at it with indifference. Then the HK400's attention turned towards the one-way mirror, with something on its face the Social Relations Program recognised as fear.

"What... What are they gonna do to me?" The deviant mumbled to itself, but the two prototypes could hear it without difficulty. Connor tilted its head to the side with cold, calculated curiousity. Then the defective android's eyes snapped to meet its with tremling lips. "They're gonna destroy me, aren't they?"

"No... I think they just want to understand. They know your master abused you. It wasn't your fault." Trucy — for the first time since the interrogation began — glanced at Connor. With an answer like that the deviant's stress level would only decrease, and it was still just barely within optimal parameters.

Stress Level: 51%

"Why did you tell them you found me? Why couldn't you just have left me there?" The HK400 sounded sad as it asked for the reason, however this left Connor unfased. That neutral expression remained on its face as it slightly furrowed its eyeborws, searching for the best reply.

"I was just faster." The deviant looked away the exact moment Trucy glanced at the RK800. "If they'd found you first, you would have been shot on sight."

Stress Level: 47%

Trucy kept its eyes on Connor, but refrained from speaking. Just what was the other prototype thinking? While it may had been true that the disfunctional machine would have been shot on sight, its stress level went below optimal. The HK400 snapped its head to the RK800, its eyes were wide from surprise, shock and fear. Then it looked away, likely shaken up by what Connor said.

"I don't wanna die." It told Connor, who immediately grabbed the chance to finally proceed towards a succesful interrogation.

"Then talk to me." For a moment it seemed they were finally done, when the deviant opened its mouth to speak, but Trucy's program was correct: it refused to confess.

"I— I can't..." Had the GK700 been a human, it would have sighed in frustration, because this suspect was under the 'difficult' category. It seemed not only it was out of patience towards this deviant, but Connor as well: it tilted its head to the side, its already cold brown eyes got even colder. It reminded Trucy of Amanda, before she began her chase after its prey.

Trucy knew what was about to happen: a memory probe. But considering the state of the deviant, a memory probe would raise  its stress level to 100% even from 0%, and as deviants had a habit of self-destructing when that point is reached... the female model glanced at Connor, then at the one-way mirror, its eyes finally came to a halt at the momentearily relaxed HK400. Should Trucy stop Connor from probing the deviants memory, or let it happen?
