Love Through Brexit

Chapter 6

George is laying down on his bed, looking at the ceiling of his bedroom. He couldn't fall asleep because of the memory of his nightmare. He's thinking about William, about what would have happened if he had made him go faster. About what would've happened if it was him who had been caught and shot. The more he thinks about that, the more guilty he feels. He take his phone and starts reading again his conversation with his puppy. It make him feels a little bit better, remembering all the happy memories. 2 hours later, he's still reading all these messages. He starts to cry. He don't mind about the noise he can make. He let his phone fall down on the floor and continues crying. On the phone could be seen a message from William. It's saying:
"Get prepared. I'll take you to the restaurant. I've something extremely important to do" to which David answered: "Ooohhh what is it? Can't I know? I can't wait!"

David was chilling on his phone. He was watching some videos on YouTube when he received a message from William. It was saying:
"Get prepared. I'll take you to the restaurant. I've something extremely important to do"
"What does he have in mind?" wondered David chuckling.
He clicks on the notification and sent to William:
"Ooohhh what is it? Can't I know? I can't wait!"
"I'm acting so childishly." Said David laughing.
He got up and went to his bedroom to get prepared. Since it was already 6pm, he thought William will be back home soon. So he looked for his suit in his wardrobe. When he finished preparing himself, he went back to the living room to sit on the couch, and noticed that there was already someone on the couch. He wondered who it could be and noticed it was his puppy. He walked quietly behind him and yelled:
"BOOO!"
"OH MY GOODNESS! DAVID!" Screamed William, scared
David couldn't help but laugh. After a few seconds, William joined David and they laughed for 2 minutes. As soon as they finished laughing, William asked:
"You ready Davie?"
David nodded and took William's hand as they headed out to the car.
After 10 minutes, they arrived at the restaurant. David was really happy. It was a beautiful evening. But he noticed William was nervous. He wondered what happened but remembered he wasn't really at ease with people around. He found it cute that William was struggling with his fear for him. He took William's hand and said:
"You know, if you're really uncomfortable here, we can leave."
William looked at David, smiled and said:
"Nah it's fine, we can ask for our dessert, you cutie."
While they were waiting for their dessert, they were talking about random things. A few minutes later, their dessert arrived. David was about to eat his dessert but William took his hand and said, a little bit shaking:
"Hang on a minute please. I've something to do."
David looked at William, a little bit confused while he was searching for something in his pocket. When he found it, he suddenly kneeled on one knee, showed a box and opened it. The box revealed a ring. David was shocked and cried of joy. All the restaurant was quiet. Everyone was looking at them. Then William asked:
"David, will you marry me?"
David felt tears of joy falling down his cheeks and said:
"Yes! Yes! Of course I will!"
The whole restaurant was clapping and some people were in awe.
David and William were kissing gently while hugging tightly each other. It was David's best evening!

David is still in his bed, crying. His bedroom door opens gently and George come in. He sees David crying and asks:
"David! What happened?"
George walks toward David and sees a light coming from the ground. He looks down and sees David's phone. He reads what it's written and understands why he was crying. He walks toward David and hugs him tightly.
"I-I missed hi-him so m-much." Says David, stuttering.
"I know. Calm down please. Everything's gonna be alright. I promise you. Please calm down."
After a few minutes, David finally calms down. George asks:
"You alright? Do you want something? I can make you hot chocolate if you want."
David nods and George goes to the kitchen. When he goes back to the bedroom, he asks:
"Do you want me to stay until you fall asleep?"
David nods and starts drinking. When he finishes it, he puts his cup on his nightstand and he closes his eyes. A few minutes later, he fall asleep. George notices this and tries to return to the living room. But David is holding his arm tightly.
George tries to move but he couldn't.
"Ah... I guess I'll have to sleep here." He told to himself, laughing.
George put himself under the blankets and says:
"Goodnight Davie."
After these words, he fall asleep next to David.
