Mia's POV
I went to Auntie Karen’s house crying and she comforted me. She asked me many times what was wrong but I was too scared to tell her.
Karen: Mia you know you can talk to me
She says wiping my tears away.
Mia: Auntie please promise me you won’t overreact
Karen: Depends but go ahead talk to me
Mia: Mama kicked me out of the house
Karen: Why?
I paused and she put her hand on mine.
Karen: You can talk to me Mia I’m here and I won’t judge you.
Mia: I told her I was pregnant
Karen: You are?
Mia: Yeah…..
I said breaking down again.
Mia: I don’t know what else to do
I cried into my hands and she rubbed my back.
Karen: Okay um….first things first Are you and the baby okay? Do you feel the need to go to the hospital or anything?
Mia: No we're okay
Karen: Okay good.
Have you been to the doctors or anything since you found out you were pregnant?
Mia: No I tried to just hide it until I told Mama and Pops
Karen: Alright, how far along would you say you are?
Mia: 5 months maybe less i don't know.
Karen: Okay here’s what we’re going to do.
We’re going to call the clinic and set up an appointment for you and the baby.
From there we talk about school and other important stuff but you and the baby’s health comes first.
Do you have any clothes?
Mia: No mama said not to take it cause I ain’t pay for it
Karen: Lord, okay Ki still has some clothes here so I’ll look through those to see if you can wear any of those.
My sister was hard on you but we’re gonna get through it. You’re going to be okay.
Mia: Thank you Auntie
Karen: Your welcome baby
She said hugging me.
Karen: Can I ask you something?
Mia: Yeah?
Karen: The father- did you tell him?
Mia: Um- no not yet I keep saying I will but I keep backing out.
Karen: Okay well I think you should tell him soon and when you do we should have a little meeting with him
Mia: Okay I’ll talk to him
She touched my stomach and smiled at me before leaving the kitchen.
I’m glad she had my back although I was wrong.
Karen’s POV
I went upstairs to my room to get my phone so I could talk to Dorinda when I found it she had already called me 7 times. So I called her back
Dorinda: Karen why you haven’t been answering the phone?
Karen: I’m sorry my phone wasn’t on me
Dorinda: It’s alright but I gotta talk to you cause I’m about to lose my mind!. She said while pacing the floor back and forth
Karen: Okay talk.
Dorinda: Your niece Mia she’s pregnant.
I just found out this morning.
Karen: Mhm
