Chapter 2

Amelias POV
As I continued to look around the lab I found a robot arm I read about.
"Merideth!" I called "Is this that robot arm that does cell culture?" I questioned excitedly. Before she could respond another doctor walked in and answered for her.

"It is, and please don't touch it" I heard. I looked away from the arm and saw who said it. A beautiful, hot doctor, named Kai Bartley. I felt my heart rate speed up, I got nervous and didn't know what to do so I put my hands in my back pockets trying to act natural. Dr. Hamilton introduced them to mer, and me but I didn't hear a word of it, I was too busy staring at them, then I heard Meredith speak.

"It's great to meet you. I've been reading your stem cell research." Merideth said politely.

"Which is brilliant. I've been following it for years. Um they were at Hopkins a couple years behind me. O-okay. When you inject the cells into the brain, what about the risk of the cells developing tumors?" I rambled

"That exact question stalled my research for 2 years" they said, they're voice was so calming but so hot at the same time. "But when I teamed up with David-" they said but they got cut off.

"Once they took my funding," David said. Kai giggled, GOD they were so cute.

"I uncovered a Chinese herbal compound that completely removes the undifferentiated cells" they said

"God that's amazing, they're amazing," I said. Did I just say that out loud? Oh no that was meant to stay in my head. As I was freaking out they left. I tried convincing Merideth to say yes because it was an amazing opportunity, though it was really just so I could work with Kai.

Kais POV
I was going to say hello to David before my conference call. I walked in and was a little surprised to see two new people there. One was blonde and pretty but then I saw her. A stunning brunette with perfect blue green eyes and a contagious smile, she was gorgeous.

I walked into the room with the robot arm, telling her not to touch it.

"Dr, Grey, Dr. Shepard meet Dr. Kai Bartley. He introduced me. I just looked at her, she looked at me. When we made eye contact I felt something, I'd never felt this way before. I talked to her some more about my research, she followed it which made me nervous for some reason, knowing she knew me. I had to get to my conference call, though I just wanted to kiss her, but I stopped myself and just went on my way.
