"Just throw the goddamn thing away." he approached me ready to snatch it from my hand but I pulled it away.

A scowl was set on his lips and he crossed his arms over his chest, "Give me the ring love, why do you even want it?"

It wasn't that I wanted it, it was the fact that maybe this could lead us to somewhere. Maybe it could help us figure out who this person is. Yes it was disgusting of him to even think I'd marry him or even think he could get his hands on Lily and I. Which is why I'd happily hold onto something as small as this to find someone as harmful as him.

"It's just a ring." I stated, meeting his cold eyes set on the jewel.

"A ring he picked out for you!" he exaggerated, "I don't want you keeping it."

"It could help us and it looks.." I trailed off as I eyed the detail of the band, "Familiar."

Ryder groaned, "Where's your real wedding ring anyway?" he came forward again to grab my hand where my naked finger came into sight.

Which irritated him further, "Calm down okay?" I laughed a little to lighten the mood, "I took it off when I showered and put it on my dresser." I slipped my hand away to walk towards the wooden furniture.

I placed the foax ring down, replacing it with my real one that sparkled in the light. Before turning around and holding up my hand to show Ryder who slowly smiled at the sight. His features relaxed slightly, his hands motioning me over to him. When I was arms length he grabbed my sides to pull me into him. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders while I laid my hands against his sides.

"I'm sorry." he murmured against the side of my head and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"For what?" his arms felt so comforting around me, I could feel my body sinking into his.

His hands made their way into my hair, "This whole thing has made me slip with my anger, I know I had been doing good..." he trailed off, clearing his throat, "I- I just don't want you to think I'm going backwards."

I sighed with a small smile slipping onto my features, "I know you." My hands trailed up his back, "Probably more than anyone and I know for a fact you're not going backwards." I managed to get out as he pulled away to lift my chin, "You're acting like anyone would for the people they love."

His dark eyes met mine filled with intensity, "You're right, you know me more than anyone." his voice was so deep it sent my stomach to jump with joy.
