"One more push and.." There was no hesitation as I yelled in pain, squeezing the hand that is probably broken by now.
Soon loud cries filled the room and I collapsed onto the hospital bed, my eyes shutting on there own accord. I felt so exhausted, yet relieved the pain was over. My eyes did open the second I realized my baby was in fact here after so long. A hand pushed away my hair that was matted to my forehead from the sweat, before a soft kiss was laid there.
"You did great, princess." Ryder's lips then met mine in a soft kiss before pulling away.
After all the years he's kissed me it's still so amazing as if it was our first.
"It's a girl." The doctor announced as Ryder and I, wanted to be surprised he definitely was as he thought it was a boy.
"I knew it." I whispered to myself as Ryder smiled rolling his eyes playfully.
The doctor asked for him to cut the umbilical cord to which he happily obliged. It took them a minute or so to wash her up before wrapping her in a blanket and setting her in Ryder's arms. Who I noticed was so in awe of everything, especially of our new baby girl.
"She looks like you." he stated softly while his forefinger stroked her cheek.
Almost as if remembering he looked up to meet my droopy eyes that couldn't seem to stay open. I lazily smiled at him as I watched him walk over sitting in the chair next to the bed. After making sure he was close enough he lifted her into my arms but, helped me hold her since I was extremely tired.
"Have you both chosen a name for her?" The doctors voice drifted into my ears as I stared into her hazel eyes.
"Lily, Lily Salvatore." I whispered as her eyes stared into mine, her little feet kicking as she chewed on her fingers.
Ryder and I decided it was a cute name, for a boy though he wanted it to be Kayden. He's always wanted to name his boy that. As I stared into her eyes in that moment nothing mattered, she was my whole world and I knew I'd do anything to protect her.
Soon sleep caught up to me as my eyes started to shut, the weight from my arms was gone and yet another kiss was placed on my head.
"Sleep, my love." Was the last thing I heard before dozing off into a peaceful sleep.
