It's been a week since Jake's birthday and since we got that message. As last time the person who checked for fingerprints didn't find any. Our lead on the bear was a dead end as well, we tried it with the bell but, it lead no where. It's like this person was covering their tracks. We had no fingerprints, no lead, no anything.
Ryder has been stressed all week, he even upped our security around the house. There's cameras almost everywhere now. I, on the other hand have been trying to put all my focus on Lily. I didn't want to think about this person. Because, if I did, I'd lose my mind, just like Ryder has already.
The whole Jake situation is also weighing me down, he still hasn't told her. Which is making me uneasy, the longer he keeps this from her. The more it will hurt her. I just didn't want to be the one to tell her, it has to be Jake.
I shook my thoughts away, eyeing Lily who was laid down on her purple blanket, chewing on her tiny fingers. While I shook a rattle above, her eyes lighting up at the sight of it.
"See Octavia, if we had a baby they'd be best friends." Mark smirked, throwing his arm over my shoulder.
I scrunched my nose up, removing his hand, "In your dreams Colfin." I replied, putting the rattle down.
Grayson and Tommy laughed, "You need to stop man." Grayson patted his shoulder.
Tommy picked Lily up, cradling her in his arms lovingly. I smiled at the sight, he out of the three brothers seemed to love her more, Grayson being a close second. Ryder was out with Carter trying to get a lead on this person. So he entrusted the boys with me and Lily.
"My turn." Haisley came from the kitchen doorway, rubbing her hands together.
Plus Elijah and Haisley, he figured the more people, the better. Tommy looked at Haisley with a glare, she flicked his forehead.
"You don't scare me little boy." she stated, I laughed at that, his cheeks reddening.
Elijah laughed as well knowing the little crush Tommy has on Haisley. It was new, which everyone could clearly see but, himself. I looked to Grayson who was sat on the edge of the purple blanket, Mark next to him. As I sat opposite to them, with a tomato face Tommy who was handing over Lily. She gladly held her going to sit next to Elijah.
Tommy pulled his beanie over his face and fell back against the couch. Clearly flustered, which made the boys and I laugh.
"Maybe the guys want to step out so I can talk to Octavia?" Haisley suggested bumping Elijah's shoulder with her own, "Babe."
Elijah nodded, giving her a kiss before the boys followed him out of the room. I got up from the ground and sat next to Haisley. We smiled at each other before laughing.
