The Vampires of New Orleans
au: set after theo gets dragged under

Clarissa Bane had prided herself on her ability to hold it together at the toughest moments but for once in her life she had run and didn't look back.

She had yet to grieve the loss of Theo Raeken but she knew that she was probably the next target for the McCall pack to take out of the equation. Instead of sticking around in Beacon Hills to meet her demise, she gathered her brothers and ran.

Evelyn had assured her that she and the others would follow behind them closely and directed the oldest Bane sibling to a safe house on the edge of the New Orleans city limit. It was a beautiful house but the chimera could almost smell the dark energy that permeated the area around it. However, she didn't know if it was the house or the city itself.

New Orleans was a beautiful city and Clarissa could almost imagine being happy there except for the abundance of supernatural people she could feel in the area. The witches of New Orleans had banished Evelyn for choices that she had made and Clarissa had yet to hear the full story of what happened. She could smell the forest on the werewolves of the area and she could almost taste the death that permeated the air from the vampires.

New Orleans was a supernatural hot spot that made her teeth clench in fear but she couldn't allow herself to be afraid anymore. She had been afraid from what happened to Theo but she couldn't stop living her life because of fear.

The bar and grill that she had found herself in while Corey and Delcan were unpacking served the best food that she had ever tasted and the blonde bartender had barely raised an eyebrow at the clearly underage teenager ordering a drink. She supposed that was because she knew the supernatural secret and that most vampires looked close to her age.

Her fingernails were tapping against the bar gently as she stared down at the table, her mind zipping around her potential ideas of what to do next. She couldn't go back to Beacon Hills in the near future and she had been sending Stiles and Lydia to voicemail each time they called. She had yet to listen to the many messages that she had been left but she could only assume that they would grow in severity the more that she dodged their calls.

"What's a girl like you doing drinking alone, darling?" A smooth accented voice questioned her confidently and her eyes darted up at the sound of it to meet mischievous eyes. Mischievous eyes that promised trouble and she wanted nothing to do with it. She had seen those same eyes on Theo Raeken on more than one occasion and it ended with nothing but heartbreak for her.

"Just waiting for a creep like you to come along and ask me that very specific question." Clarissa huffed out in annoyance, her eyes lingering on the smirk that was growing on his face the longer that he stared at her. It was like he knew something that she didn't and she was the type of person that wanted to know everything. "Now run along. I don't have time for the you have such light in your eyes speech that you'll use to try to win me over."

"Well, don't you have a sharp tongue." The mysterious stranger commented softly, his eyes alight with mischief as he looked her over with a devilish smile. She could smell the death that permeated him like a blanket and she wanted no part of it. "I happen to like pretty little things with sharp tongues."

"I happen to like my men with a heartbeat and a lack of taste for blood." Clarissa mumbled underneath her breath harshly, her thoughts turned to a chimera with a sweet smile and a taste for destruction. She missed him so much that it hurt, but she knew that she would probably never see him again. "Now run along darling, I don't feel like tapping a vein at the moment."
