i really struggled with this one because i wasn't quite sure where to place clarissa in this episode. she's not on good terms with the others yet completely and her own family is still walking on eggshells around her. so, we ended up with this which is honestly a little sad.

Clarissa Bane sighed heavily as she walked through the empty hallway of the school.

Her boots squeaked against the linoleum flooring and she shrugged her jacket closer to her body as the air conditioning hit her skin. It was colder in the school than normal and she hated it. The bitter chill reminded her of the months leading up to her death. She hadn't felt that way in a long time but ever since they had gone to see the others in the afterlife, she felt that chill lingering on her body wherever she went.

She trailed her fingers along the lockers as she walked. She was killing time until she had to pick Corey up from his tutoring session, but she was glad that he was finally reaching out for help from someone besides her and Delcan. They tried to help him as much as they could, but Mason was more than willing to help his boyfriend in the subjects that Clarissa and Delcan were not in.

She didn't have a destination in mind as she was just waiting until her brother texted her, but it felt like her feet had a mind of their own as she walked further towards the side of the school.

She had been in this part of the school many times before but the memory that stuck out the most was when Claudia Stilinski had come to the school after her parents had died. The older woman had been kind to her and offered their spare bedrooms for her and her brother to stay in. It hadn't lasted long though because Evelyn had come to Beacon Hills and offered the majority of the chimeras safety in her home.

Clarissa's feet paused in the hallway, her head pounding as she tried to recall why Claudia had let them stay with the Stilinski family. It had been strange and she knew that while the sheriff had known about the supernatural and was fond of her because of her parents, it didn't explain their kindness of letting them stay.

The memories with the older woman were fresh in her mind but hazy, like they were slightly out of focus. She could recall laughing with the older woman over coffee in the morning and curling up on the couch with her to watch movies but there was a feeling of something else in the memories of her, something twisted and warped that didn't quite sit right with Clarissa.

Clarissa had noticed that same hazy feeling when she had gotten in her car the night before. The baseball bat that was propped up against the backseat had been there for months now and her brother had his own, but they had never shown interest in the sport. She remembered someone hitting Ethan and Aiden with one when they were still following through with Deucalion's plans, but Clarissa would have never gotten one herself. She also wouldn't have gotten one that said Princess Leia on the handle.

She stared down the hallway and frowned as the lights flickered twice before going out completely. It casted an eerie darkness in the hallway as the emergency lights came on and Clarissa couldn't help but feel like she had been there before when it was like this.

"Lis!" Someone called her name from down the hallway and heart started hammering inside of her chest at the sound. It was familiar but not at the same time and her mind was searching the deepest part of her memory to try and recall why it felt so familiar.

"Clarissa! Clarissa Bane!"

The chimera turned on her feet towards the other end of the hallway, her body going completely stiff as she saw no one there. The end of the hallway was completely empty, but her eyes narrowed as if she was trying to place something in the emptiness of it.
