The leaves crunched underneath her heeled boots as she walked, her glare firm and her arms crossed tightly over her stomach. She was severely upset and everyone in the general vicinity could tell by the way that Liam Dunbar scurried ten steps ahead of her from the moment that they had gotten to the woods. She didn't like this plan, not because it wasn't her own, and not because she didn't know what would happen. She didn't like this plan because one of their best fighters was being dragged behind the two teenagers in front of them with chains around his wrists.
"It's fine." Theo mumbled underneath his breath towards her, his arms rubbing together at the uncomfortable feeling of metal grazing his skin. His words were soft, but everyone with supernatural hearing could tell what he had said. "They don't trust me and I don't necessarily blame them."
"They're children." Clarissa rolled her eyes at the nervous eyes that belonged to the two younger supernatural creatures in front of them to look at the pair. Her heart clenched at the fact that Liam was the same age that she had been when she found out about the supernatural. They weren't children anymore and they could no longer play pretend that the supernatural wasn't real. They were all supposed to be children, but they had been forced to grow up way too soon because the world wanted to attempt to kill them every chance it had. "Forgive me if I don't entirely trust them when their first idea is to chain you up."
"I hurt a lot of people." Clarissa didn't turn to him at the softly spoken words, but she could see the way that his shoulders tensed up as they left his lips. He didn't want to be vulnerable in front of the two teenagers that were pretending not to listen to them, not when he couldn't run away from them. "You most of all, so if this makes them feel better, I guess I can play along for now."
"This plan is stupid and we're all going to die. I don't need Lydia's banshee radio or Benny's visions to tell me that." Clarissa hummed out, her fingers picking at her cuticles as they walked. She didn't like not knowing what was happening with the others. She didn't like that they were talking about catching a Ghost Rider or that she had no idea if her brothers were being unfairly treated as they waited for them to arrive with Theo. Scott wouldn't bat an eyelash at the chains that they used to keep Theo from being free and that didn't sit well with her because who knew if her brothers were safe.
"This was a bad idea." Liam commented lowly, his eyes shooting back to the couple to see Clarissa staring daggers at him and Hayden. Her eyebrow raised as she noticed him looking towards them and she wanted nothing more than to demand that Theo be set free, even though it would win her no points towards the others.
"It's not a bad idea." Hayden commented warily, avoiding the gaze of the older chimera. She didn't want to be around Clarissa much anymore, not after everything that had happened between them. Silences became tense whenever they were in a room together and Hayden had yet to thank the girl for saving her life even though she could have left her for dead.
"It is a terrible idea." Theo declared with a tone of finality that seemed to make the others pause. Liam on the other hand wasted no time in yanking the chains that held his wrists together and Clarissa grasped his arm to keep him from falling face first into the ground. "I told you where the transformer is. I told you how it works. We don't need to be there when it all blows up."
"It's not going to blow up." Hayden turned and snapped at the pair of them, her eyes filled with fire as she noticed the smug grin on Clarissa's already smug face. "They ride the lightning. We can use that to catch one and keep him there until we figure out what they want. It's a good idea."
