"Why Aunt May?" I asked her curiously. This was our home so it surprised me that she told me that we're moving.
"Remember that thing I told you about my promotion?" She replied while getting the decorations off the wall.
"You got it?!" I jumped excitedly towards her. She's been working hard to get that promotion. She deserves it. She laughed at my excitement.
"Yes, we're moving upstate." She said to me.
"Upstate? Aunt May I don't mean to offend you in anyway. You know I won't do it purposely but can we afford to live upstate?" I asked.
She gave me a look showing that she didn't get offended of any sort from my question. She was understanding like that. She gave me a solemn glance and walked towards me and pulled me into a hug.
"I love you and I'm proud of what you've become and what you will choose to be in the future. I want to tell you that I'm sorry. I know that it may be selfish of me to do this. To accept the promotion, making us leave our home and moving somewhere else. I'm sorry that I agreed to something that you might not have wanted." She said as she was still hugging me.
The thing with me and Aunt May is that whenever we have long hugs like this is that we'll sway as if where dancing.
"Aunt May what are you trying to say? And no, you are not selfish that you're finally choosing something you want. To be honest, I'm happy that you finally got the promotion. For once you chose something you wanted for yourself." I made sure she understood that I was fine with whatever she was trying to tell me.
She guided me towards the couch. She sat down and I followed her movement. She took both of my hands and looked at me straight in the eyes.
"Remember the time I found out you were Spider-Man?" She asked me. I laughed at that memory.
"How could I forget Aunt May?"
"Well, you have school the next day and I may or may not have stormed to the Avengers compound to give Tony Stark a piece of my mind after you left..." she said, her voice getting quieter as she finished the sentence.
I know I should be worried or embarrassed that my Aunt May went to my, how should I address Mr. Stark anyway? Boss? Mentor? Supervisor? Anyway, the idea that Aunt May nagged at Mr. Stark about me being Spider-Man was something I would've wanted to see.
"How did it go?" I asked eagerly.
"Well, he didn't stopped me. Which was a nice decision from him. I would say he coward at my presence or by my nagging but that would sound so arrogant. His fiancé, Pepper, was actually just watching the scene unfold in front of her.
She was amused that I nagged at Tony to no end that I made Tony looked like "a kid who got himself in trouble and was about to cry about it" her words not mine. We all got to talked about your situation.
We discussed about your well-being now that you're Spider-Man and all. Since Tony was already considering giving you an internship at that time because apparently you manage to hacked your way out of the most secure facility in the eastern seaboard with your calculator and pencil. Though I didn't doubt that you can actually do it.
Now, here you are, a real Intern of Stark Industries, which I am really proud. Pepper, she gave a good word about me to my boss that they quickly approved my application for the promotion. I am thankful for her. I really am.
The promotion means that I have more job to do but I didn't have to work so late but it does require me to travel a lot. Tony told me that he already offered you a room at the compound and that the offer still stands. He suggested that if ever I was away or gone for too long. That you can stay there at the compound.
Pepper, she told us that as much as the arrangement was great there was a problem because you're still a minor and leaving you for long time without a guardian, would cause a lot of trouble.
Please don't be mad and I'm sorry I did something rushed but I may have given Tony and Pepper secondary guardianship." She rambled looking ashamed.
"What?" I asked. Don't get me wrong I heard what she said and I think Aunt May understood that too.
"You mean to tell me that Pepper Potts and Tony Stark are practically my guardians?!" I shouted. This was surreal. I never in my life would think that I'll be in this situation.
"Well don't get too excited. I'm still you're primary guardian." She smiled at me. She understood my excitement. I basically fanboyed over Miss Potts and Mr. Stark while growing up.
"No one can replace you Aunt May. You're still the one I'd choose. I hope you know that." I told as I hugged her.
"I know, remember this. No matter what, I am still your Aunt May nothing and no one is gonna change that. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you're okay and happy." She hugged me back.
"I larb you Aunt May."
"Larb you too, sweetheart." She said as he kissed the top of my head.
"Let's go back to packing." She patted my back. I groaned at her response.
"Aunt May..."
"Yes Petey?"
"It's weird that Mr. Stark is my guardian." I told her honestly. She chuckled and put some of our stuff in the box in front of her.
"I know that you know my opinion about that man but I didn't need to spend hours with Tony to know that he cares for you and trust me Pete, give it a little time. I think that the two of you would see how alike you are."
"Yeah right." I replied sarcastically. I'm practically dust compared to Tony Stark.
"Have some faith in yourself sweetie. You're a real genius and you're still young. You have a long way to go but you're also so far from where you started." Trust that Aunt May will just randomly say something inspiring while packing our stuff.
"Aunt May, I just realized something. How long did you actually talked with Miss Potts and Mr. Stark that you're addressing them by their first names?"
"Guardianship papers don't just happened overnight. Besides I have to set some ground rules if ever I was away, Tony better make sure he's doing his job right. Pepper, is just awesome. You should spend some of your time with her when you get the chance. You'll learn a lot from her."
"Now stop asking question and start packing Pete."
