I Thought Everyone Knew

"Where's Tony?"Pepper asked as she saw the Avengers in the common room doing just anything to keep themselves busy.

"He went out. It's his kid's national decathlon competition." Rhodey replied like he was just saying an update on the weather.

The other Avengers whipped their heads toward him upon hearing that. They were all shock to hear about Tony's whereabouts.

"It's today?!" Pepper said with guilt in her eyes.

"Tony was gonna take you with him but you were really stressed with this board meeting and he didn't have the chance to tell you."

"Maybe, I can still make it."

"Their probably done by now and it's in another state. Don't worry, Tony made a banner that says "Pep sends her love and she's really proud. Go Petey-Pie!" Just prepare your famous pasta and Pete will be more than happy to have that than that big ass trophy" Rhodey said giving Pepper a smile. She nodded and head to the kitchen to prepare the ingredients.

"Excuse me but what the fuck?!" Steve asked in surprise.

"You're excuse Cap" Rhodey replied in amusement laced in his voice.

"What the fuck! Tony has a kid?!" Clint shouted

"Oh yeah, you guys didn't know? I thought everyone knew?"

"Are these the faces of the people in the knowing?" Clint asked incredulously.

"What?" Rhodey asked in confusion.

"When did he got a kid? You had a kid with Tony?" Nat asked Pepper who was busy rummaging the fridge for her ingredients.

"What? No! Trust me Nat if I had a kid I wouldn't be running SI, and Pete is more of Tony's kid."

"So, he had the kid before you two got together?" Bruce asked

"No!"

"He cheated on you?!"

"Pff. Yeah, sure, I wanna see that. No, of course not! It's complicated. You should see him right now. Really taking the role of a dad...and a mom." Pepper replied.

"This is not helping with the confusion." Bruce said.

"Oh! Oh! Let's show them the clips." Rhodey suggested excitedly to Pepper.

"You know how Tony feels about us watching those."

"Oh please, if he didn't want us to see it, he shouldn't have given us access to it besides I know his password for his Petey-pie folder."

"You're lying"

"It's the kid's birthday"

"Really creative." Pepper said sarcastically

"Pepper this is the same man who uses "Le knock knock" as a password for his office in Paris."

"What are you guys talking about?" Wanda ask as the two change topics left and right.

"We're gonna show these clips because I don't want any of you talking or commenting shits when those two arrive. One wrong word and I will personally kick you out of this Tower. Am I clear?" Pepper said threateningly towards the Avengers, they all silently nodded in fear.

"Fri, let the show begin" Rhodey said

Peter: I'm sure you're right but why?!

Tony: What were you thinking?!

Tony: How could you get in this much trouble in one day?!

Peter: To tell you the truth it didn't take me the whole day.

Tony: Oh well, I'm sorry! I didn't know you took it as a challenge!

Peter: Whoops...

Tony: Whoops? This is not whoops Peter! This is "Oh fuck"!

Tony: Unbelievable! I clearly told you not to do it! But look, you did it. Not only did you disobeyed me but you could've gotten yourself hurt!

Tony: What do you have to say for yourself?! No! No! You don't get to do that thing were you stare at your hands while you fiddle with your fingers and pout, no! Not gonna work!

Tony: Peter! You were covered in blood! It's not fcking yours but does that make the situation better?! Of course it does in some way but can you see what I'm trying to say?

Tony: Oh my god Peter! I cannot afford to have another heart attack! On top of it all, it's only Monday! The first day of the week—of this month! Please, I ask, I only ask is for you to stay out of trouble. Not go looking for it! YOU FCKIN RUN THE OTHER WAY NOT RUN TOWARDS IT!

Tony, frustratingly rubbing his face: Go grab your jacket and your stuff.

Peter, on the verge of crying looking at Pepper and Rhodey who just gave the boy a sympathetic look: I'm sor—

Tony: No! Don't you say it. Happy is waiting...

Peter, his voice cracking: Mr. Stark—

Tony: Please kid move faster before the Ice Cream parlor closes...

Peter: What?

Tony: Kid, it's Sweet Monday. Now, hurry up.

Peter:...Can I have three scoops of Mint Chocolate?

Tony, while taking Peter's bag and slinging it to his shoulders: Whatever you want kid.

Peter: I don't think she'll like this

Tony, looking proudly at a 10ft stuff animal: Course she will Pepper liked it.

Pepper: I don't.

Peter: You know what? I'm just gonna tell her there was an emergency and that I can't go to the date.

Tony: Man up Kid. You seriously gonna do that just because you're nervous. Trust me, this is a chic magnet!

Pepper: You have a meeting in 2 minutes Tony. I swear if you don't—

Tony, walking backwards toward the elevator: Yes, Yes, okay. Listen Kid just do what I told you to do and I'm sure she'll be head over heels for you.

Peter, quickly turning his head towards Pepper: Miss Potts—

Pepper: Take her to this cute coffee shop that has a library inside. I already called them they reserved the garden booth with the giant bean bags were you can read and talk. I ordered the picnic special.

Pepper: Relax and breathe, she said that it'll be a casual date. She asked you out and she's your friend, so whatever you do or say won't affect how she see and feels about you because she already expects it. Just be you, act like how you usually act around her. Impress but don't over do it. You're sweet, smart and kind. There's nothing to worry about.

Peter, tearing up: Thank you so much, I don't know how I can repay you Miss Potts. You're the best. But what about this *pointing at the 10ft stuff anima.

Pepper: You think your other friend Ned would want that?

Peter: Yup, he'll demand ownership if he finds out the it was from Mr. Stark. He'll probably use it as a bed too...
