SPECIAL CHAPTER 1

A chapter where-in Samirah caught Israel teaching Sabrina law terms.

"How do you address the Master of the Supreme Court, baby?"

That was the first sentence I heard from Israel this morning. Kakatapos lang nila ni Sabrina kumain ng breakfast at ako, kagigising ko lang. And this is the first thing I'm going to witness this morning?! My husband teaching my daughter law terms?!

"Your Honour, Dad." Sabrina answer, she was beaming.

They were sitting on the couch. Israel was holding his Ipad while Sabrina was just listening to him, trying to absorb anything her father was saying! Ayaw ko silang guluhin, bonding nila 'yan. Pero iba ata ang bonding nila ngayon.

"Very good." Israel patted Sabrina's head. "How 'bout this... What do you call the Lawyer who conducts the case against a defendant in a criminal court?"

"Wait, Dad." Sabrina looked down, she was thinking.

"Israel," I called him.

"Oh, good morning, babe! Are you hungry? I cooked!" Israel looked at me and gave me a huge smile. "Is there any problem?" Israel asked, nakita niya 'kong hindi ngumiti e'.

"Tuluyan mo bang papasabugin 'yang ulo ng anak mo?" I asked as I crossed my arms.

"What?" Litong litong tanong ni Israel. "What do you mean?"

"Really? Before, tinuruan mo siya ng algebra... Ilang taon pa lang siya non. Tapos ngayon, Law terms? Really?"

Israel chuckled. "Babe, basic lang 'to. Basic terms." Israel said.

"Still," I shook my head. "Are you sure napoprocess niya 'yan o pinepressure mo siya?" I arched a brow.

"No! I'm not pressuring her! She told me that she's interested and... She's very smart."

"I remembered the answer now, Dad!" Sabrina tapped Israel's arm. Kaya napatingin si Israel sa kaniya, nag-aantay ng sagot. "Prosecutor." Sabrina smiled.

"Very good, my baby." Israel caressed Sabrina's hair. "Last question before we get your Mcdo Sundae." Israel smiled.

"Yehey! What is it, Dad?" Excited pa si Sabrina. Nung jowa ko nga si Israel, halos mawindang ako sa kapal ng librong binabasa niya. Parang lahat ng letter sumasayaw sa dami!

"What does the Article 13, Section 3 of the 1987 Constitution says?" Israel asked Sabrina. Mas lalong kumunot ang noo ko sa narinig ko. Kaya naglakad na 'ko palapit duon.

"Good morning, mommy!" Bati ni Sabrina.

"Good morning, baby." I glanced at her pero agad namang napunta ang tingin ko kay Israel. "That's too much."

"She knows it." Israel laughed a bit.

"The Article 13, Section 3 affirms that the State shall afford full protection to labor, local and overseas, organized and unorganized, and promote full employment and equality of employment opportunities for all." Sabrina said, she didn't even stutter!

"That's my baby girl, very good!" Israel clapped his hands. After that, binigyan niya ng yakap si Sabrina. I was really amazed!

"Lets go and get Mcdo sundae!" Sabrina stood up, ngiting ngiti pa ang matalino kong anak.

"Wanna join?" Israel asked me.

"No," I answered. "Enjoy."

"Okay, do you want something?" Israel asked. I shook my head. "Okay, love you. Una na kami." Israel kissed my forehead before holding Sab's hand.

They were about to get out of our house but Sabrina stopped walking and looked at me. She gave me a smile before saying what she wanted to say.

"I want to be a Lawyer, mommy."

Sometimes, I don't know what's going on inside Israel's mind but we're so proud and happy everytime Sabrina's talking about her dreams, knowing what's the best for herself. When she was 4 years old, she wants to be a Lawyer because her Dad is. When she was 6, she wants to be a Flight Attendant because of me. Now, she's already 9 years old, she wants to be a Lawyer again.
