The paladins had just finished a hard battle on earth and where being treated in the med bay in the garrison. Shiro was so glad that they where in the clear until he got a radio communication saying "We have not located the black paladin and his lion, requesting MFE pilots assistants." . Shiro's heart sank with those words, Keith was still out there and maybe possibly hurt.
The last thing Keith remembers before blacking out was being ejected from the mouth of the free falling black lion. Now however all Keith feels is pain, a pain that shoots straight through his entire body. It aches, his whole body aches. It hadn't hit him yet but the black lion was laying on top of him, slowly crushing him. He felt his breathing becoming more and more strained. This couldn't be how things ended, it couldn't end by being killed by his own lion. He knows that the lion was trying to save him by ejecting him, if only it had worked.
Keith was gasping for air now, his body still aches and he was running out of time. He couldn't move his arms which where stuck at his sides, they where definitely broken ... That wouldn't matter if someone didn't come and find him soon. Before he knew it every breath was getting shorter and shorter. Soon enough it felt like he was taking his last breath.
Shiro, Griffin and the other MFE pilots came rushing to Keith's side. By the time the pilots had managed to move the black lion off of Keith the medics had just started to arrive.
Medic - Keith's arms and most of his ribs are broken. I won't know until we get him back to the med bay whether or not there's internal bleeding.
Shiro - Ok, then let's get him back to the med bay. It's ganna be ok Keith I got you buddy.
