"Hi." I greeted the receptionist with a smile.
"Good afternoon, how can I help you?" She asked returning the smile.
"I'm meeting Chase."
She looked at me with a confused expression before giving a nod.
"Did you make any appointment?" She questioned.
I shook my head.
"Then you have to make an appointment first before meeting Mr. Stewart."
"Well he didn't mention anything about any appointment I have to make." I said taking my phone from my back pocket, dialing his number.
"Hey." He said trough the phone.
"They said I need to make an appointment to meet you." I said hearing his chuckle right after.
He hung up after asking me to wait.
"You can find his office right behind those door." The receptionist pointed towards her left after getting a call from who I assume was Chase.
I walked in, mouth agape in awe looking around the big office. He was sitting at his desk doing his work, lines was visible on his forehead but forming a smile as he saw me walking in.
"I need to finish this paper first. You can take a sit." He said.
"Can I look around?" I asked as he gave me a nod before going back to his work.
I walk towards a big painting, admiring it for awhile before my eyes caught on a door besides it. I walked closer, holding onto the knob.
"What is this room?" I asked first making sure not to invade his privacy. I could feel him walking closer and closer but I stand there still waiting for him to reply.
"You do not go in there." He said as his hand settled on mine that was on the knob, stopping me from opening the door. His touch was gentle but he tightened his grip when I tried to turn the knob.
His body touched mine from behind as my heart beating hard for no reason, it felt weird to be nervous around him. I pulled my hand away turning to look at him as he was looking down on me, I leaned on the door. How is he this tall and how did I not notice this before?
"Why not?" I asked rising an eyebrow.
"Because I'm sure you don't wanna know what's in there." He said with a smirk bringing his face closer reaching mine causing me to pushed him away.
"Pfft, you nasty." I said.
"What? Don't get the wrong idea. I'm pure." He said laughing.
"I'm pure." I repeated mocking him. I sat down on the couch as he sat infront of me. His office was cozy and the interior design is simple yet sophisticated in a way that it shows who it belongs to. A successful young plus good looking CEO, well that's a bit too specific.
"So Mr. Stewart, why did you want to meet me here today?" I asked in a joking manner. "You want me to design a new logo for you?" I said. "Because this person right here just graduated from an art academy." I said continued with a smug face, flipping my hair dramatically.
"Oh stop it we're not doing any business here." He said.
"That sounds weird you weirdo." I said laughing. "Okay for real, what's the deal?" I asked, serious this time.
"What? Its a date."
"Date? Here in your office?" I asked.
"Yea."
"Im not going on a date with you Chase." I said rolling my eyes.
"Why not?" He asked
"What? Are you okay?" I asked genuinely worried. "You have a girlfriend dude. Im not gonna be you sidechick, who do you think I am?" I said
"Oh yea, about that. Well we broke up."
"What?!"
He nodded. So he invited me in to say that he broke up with Sophie, his girlfriend. It was kind of a big deal because their relationship is serious comparing to the previous ones, so I understands why he didn't just declare it trough phone call. Especially when Sophie and I are like best friends because of their relationship.
"Why?" But he only reply with a shrugged. "No reason? That doesn't make any sense Chase. Are you keeping a secret from me? You know how I feel about secret."
"No I don't." He said which received a glare from me but he chuckled in response. "Stop it Hannah, you're the only person who can't handle your curiosity."
"See, you knew it too. So what is it? Why? Why did you two broke up?"
"Shit, I just remember I have a meeting in like 30 minutes." He said rushing up. "You have to go." He quickly shooing me out of the office.
"Chase! I know you, you're just bullshiting." I huffed, pissed off by the fact that I was just here a minute ago and now I have to leave? To add to that, he was just avoiding my question I'm sure.
