Chapter 5

Boom!!
Mia's pov
I jumped up hearing the sound of thunder and looked out the window to see not only was it raining in LA which is rare but it was storming. I screamed when another sound of thunder hit along with a flash of lightning and my mind flash backed to the first time I ran away from my foster home at eight years old. My foster parents were fighting with each other and I knew they were going to come after me next so I snuck out of my window despite the pouring rain and started running, I found a bridge ten minutes from my house and I huddled under the bridge while the thunder and lightning raged all night. I didn't realize that I was having a panic attack until I heard Jaden's voice snap me out of it.
Jaden: Mia copy my breathing, it's okay you are okay
(Mia's still breathing rapidly so ness turns on the light by the bed and gets in front of her and holds her hands)
Nessa: Mia pay attention to Jaden's voice and copy my breathing okay
Mia's pov
Jaden started talking to me again while I focused on the way ness breathed in and out and copied her until I was feeling normal again and my heart rate slowed.

Jaden: good you feeling better (runs his fingers through her hair)
Mia: y yeah I am o okay
Nessa: did you have another nightmare?
Mia: n no it w w was the thunder that s scared m me
Jaden: why?
Mia: b because w when I w was s seven I r ran a away f from a foster h home and stayed under a b bridge while it was s storming a and s since then I d don't d do well w with thunder storms
Nessa: aw baby it's okay (hugs her) you'll never have to be outside during a thunder storm again okay, but it's late and we should go back to sleep
Mia: okay (pulls away from ness and starts getting off the bed)
Jaden: wait, where are you going? Ness just said we should try and go back to sleep (holds her by the waist)
Mia: I'll let you guys sleep since I probably won't be going back to sleep so I'll hang out in the other room
Boom!!
(Mia let's out another shriek)
Jaden: you aren't going to be alone if your scared come here (pulls her to his chest)
Mia: b but I d don't want to keep you guys awake (looks up at him)
Jaden: it's okay we'll fall asleep together again and we'll be right here if the thunder scares you again okay?
Mia: o okay
Jaden's pov
I laid Mia back down on the bed and she wrapped her arms around my waist and had her head on my chest. Nessa turned the lights off and was on the other side of her and every time the thunder would clap outside or the lightning struck she let out a shriek and her body started shaking.

Jaden: shh it's okay... I have an idea, turn around towards ness Mia
Mia: okay... (turns her body and gets into a curling position and then feels Jaden wrap his arms around her waist and pulls her closer to him)
Jaden: better?
Mia: (looks at him) actually yeah.. I feel more protected
Jaden: good now try and close your eyes (kisses the top of her head)
Mia's pov
For the first time since I have been here I felt completely safe around Jaden and nessa actually the first time I felt safe around anyone and I don't know how I feel about letting my guard down. My mind says to run away, get as far away as you can before they end up hurting you anyway, but my heart says give them a chance and my body is just physically exhausted to do anything except close my eyes so that's what I did.

Hours later (10 am)
Knock knock knock
Nessa: I'll get it (groans and gets off the bed and walks to the door and opens it) good morning Rafy
Rafy: morning miss I just wanted to let you know breakfast is ready
Nessa: okay thanks, can you bring it in here?
Rafy: yeah sure I'll be right back
Nessa: thank you (closes the door and walks over to Jaden and starts running her fingers through his hair and pecks him on the lips)
Jaden: good morning (smiles at her and gives her a kiss in return)
Nessa: good morning to you too
Jaden: what do we have on the schedule for today?
Nessa: a meeting with Landon's gang and then I have a meeting with some of the girls from Mads gang and right after training
Jaden: do you want me to go with you to the meeting with mads?
Nessa: no it's okay I can handle myself
Jaden: well I don't doubt that for a second but you know how she is, she's sneaky when she wants to be
Nessa: exactly which is why I need to go in and make sure she isn't doing anything that's going to ruin what we've worked for
Jaden: agreed but call me if anything, what should we do with Mia though?
Nessa: I think she's better off with you today and then I'll see you guys for training
Jaden: okay
(Rafy walks in with their food)
Rafy: here you go guys
Jaden: thanks Rafy, can you tell Bryce and josh to start getting ready? We need to see Landon today
Rafy: yes sir I'll tell them right now
Jaden: thank you
(Rafy walks out of the room and Jaden turns towards Mia and starts to lightly shake her)
Mia: what (mumbles)
Jaden: time to wake up your coming with me to work today
Mia: why (whines)
Jaden: because you've been at home for five days straight and you are feeling better so it's time to get out of the house
Mia: ugh fine (sits up)
Jaden: but we are going to eat first and you can get ready after
Mia: never mind (lays back down and pulls the sheets over her head)
Jaden: don't even think about it (takes the sheets off)
Mia: but I am not hungry
Jaden: too bad you are training later today meaning you need all the strength you can get
Mia: training?
Nessa: yeah now that your feeling better and the bruises are starting to heal you need to learn to defend yourself so I'll see you later (hugs her), bye babe let me know how the meeting goes (pecks Jaden on the lips)
Jaden: I will, love you, stay safe and call me if anything happens
Nessa: I will (kisses him one more time and leaves the room)
Mia's pov
After ness left, Rafy came in a few minutes later with orange juice and waffles that had whip cream drizzled on it... I wanted to be happy about that since the last time I had whip cream was when I was like six but now all I can think about is how sugary it is and it makes my stomach churn. Jaden thanked Rafy and then passed me my plate and a fork, I picked up the fork and was about to cut a piece of it but the amour ig whip cream that was on the little piece I cut prevented me from actually putting it in my mouth.

Mia: can I have some fruit instead?
Jaden: why? Do you not like waffles?
Mia: yeah...
Jaden's pov
I looked at Mia's body language, she had her head down while she swung her legs back and forth on the chair and she was avoiding eye contact which was a sure sign she was lying, so I lifted her chin up and looked her into her eyes knowing she would tell me the truth.

Jaden: what's the real reason you don't want to eat the waffle?
Mia: I told you, I don't like them
Jaden: try again
Mia: the whip cream...
Jaden: what about the whip cream?
Mia: it's too sugary it's going to make me fat
Jaden: no offense kid but you need to gain weight even griffin said it so a waffle with whip cream isn't going to kill you, now eat (picks up the fork and places it in front of her lips)
Mia's pov
I knew he was going to make me take a bite, there was no getting out of it so I just took the bite and let him feed me again. I felt like such a kid when he did that, I am sixteen I should be able to feed myself but my stupid mind won't let me. Eventually I finished the waffle and I guess I had a little bit of whip cream on the corner of my mouth because Jaden leaned over and wiped it with his thumb and for some reason I felt my cheeks heat up and I looked down feeling embarrassed.

Jaden: (moves her hair out of the way) don't hide your blush it's cute
Mia: stop (blushes even more)
Jaden: (laughs) go get ready, I had copper and Quinton go buy you clothes there in your closet
Mia: okay
Jaden: come back in when you're ready and we'll go
Mia's pov
I just nodded my head and walked out of the room and went to the room that I stayed in the first night I came... which I guess is my room now? That feels weird even just thinking about it, but I didn't want to overthink it to much so instead I just walked into my room and towards the bathroom. I took a quick shower and decided to leave my hair down and let my hair naturally curl like it always does, then I walked into the closet and sure enough there were clothes filling the closet. Crop tops, long sleeves, jeans, shorts which I'll probably never wear and a bunch of shoes that I didn't even know half the brands. I looked around my closet and finally decided on a pastel yellow long sleeve shirt with a pair of light pink jeans and white vans which I am guessing is the brand. Once I deemed myself presentable I walked back to Jaden's room but I guess I should have knocked because when I opened the door I saw his hair dripping wet with a towel around his waist. His six pack was on display along with the sword tattoo he has on his upper chest near his abs, the bat man wings with a two right in the middle and a crown near his neck. The tattoos on his biceps were also on full display but the one that hypnotized me the most was the one of the cherry tree with thorns.

Jaden: take a picture it'll last longer princess (smirks)
Mia: I s s sorry I d didn't m mean to s stare (blushes)
Jaden: it's okay stare all you want (shrugs his shoulders)
Mia: I uh I am going to let you get dressed I'll see you downstairs (blushes and closes his door)
Mia's pov
Did that just happen? Did he really catch me checking him out? God Mia can you he anymore stupid he has a girlfriend and you are just his charity case that he felt pity for and took you in. I tried to ignore my thoughts but they were right I definitely wasn't in Jaden's league in the slightest plus there's nessa and she's beautiful he would never want me if he has her. I made it down the stairs and I saw josh, Bryce, and copper by the front door probably waiting for Jaden to come down.

Josh: hey Mia
Mia: hey (smiles)
Bryce: how are you feeling?
Mia: better, Jaden says he wants to start training later today
Cooper: already? Are you sure your ready?
Mia: I don't know guess we'll find out (shrugs her shoulders just as Jaden comes down)
Jaden: ready to go?
Josh: yeah
Jaden: then let's go
(They all get in the car, Jaden's driving with josh in the passenger while Mia, Bryce and cooper are in the back)
Mia: so tell me about who we are going to see?
Jaden: he's a gang leader but he's also a friend of mine so we are Allies, he wanted to have a meeting but I don't know what for, but listen even though we are friends I want you to stay close by, don't wonder off by yourself and only speak if someone speaks to you okay?
Mia: okay
Jaden: good
Mia's pov
We spent the rest of the car ride talking well josh and Bryce were talking and I was listening because I didn't exactly know what to say. This was new territory for me so I figured I should just observe as much as I can and only take action if I feel threatened. Thirty minutes later we parked outside a house that had guards surrounding it and Instinctively sat closer to cooper and gripped his arm.

Mia: o okay
Security: who are you here to see?
Jaden: really dude you know me, it's Jaden
Security: right Jaden just had to make sure come on it
(Jaden rolls his eyes and wraps his arms around Mia's waist as they walk inside the house)
Travis: Jaden always nice to see you how are you? (Daps him up)
Jaden: good how about you, regretting giving the title up to Landon (jokes)
Landon: haha very funny (walks up to Jaden) sup hossler
Jaden: not much barker, why did you call a meeting though?
Landon: come inside the office and we'll talk (looks at Mia) who's this?
Jaden: Mia she's the newest member of the gang
Landon: what happened to nessa?
Jaden: nothing we are good she's just at a meeting with Mads
Landon: got it okay well come in
(Opens his door and they all walk inside and sit down)
Mia's pov
I was going to sit on one of the chairs next to Bryce and josh but before I could Jaden pulled me onto his lap and kept his arms firmly around my waist. Normally I wouldn't like being so close to someone, but over the past couple of days Jaden and ness have showed me that not all physical contact is a bad thing so I just let it be and laid my head against his chest while they talked.

Bryce: so what's the problem?
Landon: word is dallas's gang is making a comeback
Jaden: dallas's gang as in Cameron Dallas, why?
Landon: word on the street is he doesn't like how LA is being taken over by a bunch of newbies
Jaden: (laughs) newbies really? We may be new but we've already become known as one of the biggest and dangerous gangs in LA in a year, I don't see how Cameron can just grab his former members and come out of retirement like that
Landon: I agree which is why we need to make sure that doesn't happen... which is why I think we should form an alliance with Hudson
Josh: (scoffs) fuck no we are... cordial with each other but other then that no way
Jaden: I agree with josh, Hudson and his gang are snakes we can't form an alliance with them, they could turn on us in a second
Landon: I know you guys have history but shouldn't that just be put in the past already besides the more territory we have the less chance Cameron has at making an actual comeback
Bryce: how about we just form an Alliance with holder? We are already friends we could easily get a deal with him and gain territory that way
Landon: (sighs) if that's what you want to do but Hudson has more members then holder so that's a disadvantage
Jaden: can we think it over and get back to you? I know your friends with Hudson but the rest of us aren't and I don't trust him yet
Landon: sure think it over and call me but we should make the alliance happen before Dallas strikes which can be at any point so the sooner you make a decision the better
Jaden: alright, we'll talk it over and get back to you
Landon: alright
Cooper: later bro

Mia's pov
That's it? I was expecting the meeting to go a little longer but I am not complaining. We said bye to Landon and Travis before getting back in the car and I started thinking about what the boys said, who's chase Hudson? And why do the guys not like him? Also I remember seeing something about a Cameron Dallas a few years ago. Him and his group took over LA when I was like twelve or thirteen, but then he got arrested and no one heard from him again.

Josh: long story
Mia: we are in the car for thirty minutes so...
Jaden: well the drama all first started when chase wanted to hook up with nessa while she was dating josh who was his friend at the time
Mia: wait you and nessa dated? (Looks at josh)
Josh: yeah ancient history by now though
Mia: and then you started dating her Jaden? (Looks at him)
Jaden: yeah pretty much
Mia: how did that work? Aren't you guys like friends or whatever
Josh: more like brothers which is why I was pissed at first but then I realized I loved them both and wanted them to be happy even if it meant I had to see them together
Mia: oh I get it so it was like a Damon, Elena and Stefan situation? One of the girls I lived with was obsessed with that show so I saw it a few times
Josh: (laughs) something like that
Mia: so then what happened?
Jaden: so when the rest of us found out that he wanted to fuck nessa and then later on actually did it because there was a time josh and ness were broken up we decided to steal some of their drugs.. as a way to get revenge
Bryce: chase didn't like that very much so he retaliated by stealing some of our clients and then I got into an actual physical fight with his second in command Thomas and since then we just don't like each other
Jaden: but we are civil because the last thing we want is to start a gang war
Mia: makes sense...
Jaden: yup
Mia's pov
We drove for another ten minutes before stopping for food because Bryce claimed he was hungry and Jaden said we should eat before training so we got McDonald's much to my dismay. When we got home I told the boys I was going to go upstairs and change into something more appropriate which was true but I was also going to purge the greasy burger I just ate. I turned on the sink just in case and then lifted the toilet seat up before sticking my fingers down my throat and threw up the waffle that I had this morning along with the burger and when I was just dry heaving I stopped since I had emptied out everything, I washed my hands and my face to get rid of the tears that had streamed down my face and then changed into a pair of black leggings with a sports bra and put my hair in a ponytail and walked downstairs to see Jaden was waiting for me.

Mia: where did everyone go?
Jaden: they are down in the gym, come on (gently grabs her hand and leads her to the back of the house where there were some stairs and they climbed down to an underground gym)
Mia's pov
To say I was shocked by an underground gym would be an understatement because of how big it was. They had weights on one side of the room, they had lifting equipment on the other side, then they had some stuff made for parkour, and a fighting ring in the middle of the room along with some bleachers. I saw ness who was fighting with Avani.. I think that's what her name was and let me tell you she might be tiny but she can pack a punch, Avani had a little bit of blood run down her nose and that's when Bryce called it over. I looked over at Jaden and wondered how did he expect me to fight Nessa when the only thing I know is to cower unless I have a knife in my hand then it's over for the other person, but one on one combat I am no good at that.

Jaden: don't worry you aren't getting in that ring with anyone till I think you are ready
Mia: so then what...
Jaden: right now your going to focus on stamina, I want you to just run away from Quinton since he's going to be the one chasing you
Quinton: I am going to what?
Jaden: your chasing her, it's not going to be me because I am going to spar with ness
Quinton: okay
Jaden: griffin watch Mia make sure she doesn't push herself to hard
Griffin: got it
Jaden: good luck (looks at Mia)
Mia: yeah thanks (rolls her eyes) leave me with one of the bigger guys so that I can get crushed when he catches me
Jaden: he's not going to tackle you
Mia: still I hate running
Cooper: weren't you running when we found you?
Mia: I ran for fifteen minutes before finding the alley and by then I was out of breath
Cooper: that's because you were hurt and fifteen isn't that bad kid
Mia: yeah because I was by myself, Quinton's going to be faster then me (whines)
Jaden: you'll be fine kid, see you later (walks over to the ring)
Griffin: you ready (looks at Mia)
Mia: not really but I guess I'll have to be
Griffin: start running now
Scene change
Jaden: well hello there miss badass (wraps his arms around ness's waist)
Nessa: hello mr. badass, how did the meeting with Landon go?
Jaden: we'll talk about it later, how about Mads?
Nessa: we can talk about that later right now let's spar
Jaden: with or without gloves?
Nessa: right now without gloves
Jaden: okay you ready?
Nessa: the question is are you
Jaden: okay getting a little to cocky let's see what you got
(Nessa smiles and swings her right arm but Jaden blocks it, so she swings her left arm but Jaden blocks it again and this time wraps his hands around her wrist)
Jaden: what are you going to do now babe? I have both your wrists
Nessa: I still have two legs
(She kicks her right leg up and Jaden lets go of her wrists and blocks the hit, so ness uses her free hand to hit Jaden but he blocks it with his other hand so she turns on the mat and then swings her hand but Jaden grabs it and spins her around and pins her against the rope)
Jaden: now what? (Smirks and bites her ear lobe)
Nessa: (breathes) okay I get it you can let go now (blushes)
Jaden: (let's go) you've gotten better with your reflexes though I'll give you that
Nessa: you think (takes a sip of her water)
Jaden: yeah you're a lot faster (takes a sip of his water) you ready to go again?
Nessa: let's do it (stands up and walks over to him)
Scene change
Mia: Damnit!! Quinton put me down
Quinton: (puts her on the ground) you good kid?
Mia: no I am sweating and my heart is racing and I hate running
Griffin: your burning out to quickly, you need to start off jogging and then go into a run, if you start running right off the bat your going to lose your energy quickly
Mia: if I jog Quinton is going to have an advantage and catch me even quicker
Griffin: not really because if you notice he's jogging but the minute you start to speed up and he sees you losing energy that's when he speeds up and catches you quicker
Mia: that makes absolutely no sense (takes a sip of water)
Griffin: I think that's good for today though, we've been doing it for thirty minutes and I don't want to push you anymore since you aren't used to it
Mia: okay I am going to go watch Jaden and nessa
Griffin: okay
Mia's pov
I sat by the bleachers that were close to the ring and noticed Jaden swinging towards ness but she blocked it every single time. Jaden swung at her again but she dodged it and instead wrapped her arms around his waist and started kissing his neck probably to distract him which worked because she kicked him in the knee and he fell to the ground.

Nessa: nah baby what was it you taught me the first time we sparred... never let your opponent distract you and I think I just distracted you
Jaden: come here (stands up and wraps his arms around her waist) your getting better
Nessa: thank you, you too
Jaden: come on let's call it a day (pecks her on the lips and then helps ness out of the ring and they walk towards Mia) how did you do?
Mia: Quinton caught me every time like I knew he would (crosses his arms)
Jaden: you just have to practice you'll get better
Mia: yeah right
Nessa: he's right, trust me the more you do it the easier it becomes
Mia: I guess, I am going to go shower I am all sweaty
Nessa: okay come to the room after so we can put the cream on
Mia: okay (walks upstairs)
Jaden: care for a shower love?
Nessa: yes daddy, but you'll have to catch me (runs upstairs)
Jaden's pov
I smirked and chased after her till we got to our bedroom and while she had her back turned to me, I wrapped my arms around her waist and pinned her to the wall. I started kissing her lips and then moved down to her neck and then pulled her sports bra off of her and then tore her shorts and underwear off. She just needed to take off my shorts and boxers since I was already shirtless.

Nessa's pov
When we were both naked I wrapped my legs around his waist and he carried me to the shower and turned the hot water on and before I knew it he thrusted into me. I let out a moan and grabbed onto his hair and fifteen minutes later we both came and actually washed ourselves.

Mia's pov
I took a quick shower since I had showered earlier and then changed into a pink angel oversized t shirt with a pair of matching shorts much to my dismay but it'll be easier for them to put the cream on if my legs are exposed so I kept it on and walked to their room and this time I knocked because the last thing I need is to feel insecure seeing ness wrapped in a towel and compare myself to her.

Nessa: come in
Mia: (opens the door) a a are you g guys d decent?
Jaden: (laughs) yes princess
Mia: good (walks into the room)
Nessa: why were you laughing Jae?
Jaden: little one over here walked into the room today and started blushing like a tomato because she saw me wrapped in a towel
Nessa: (shakes her head and laughs) you are so innocent Mia, we have so much to teach you (mumbles the last part)
Mia: what?
Nessa: huh nothing don't worry about it, come lay down today I am going to do your legs while Jaden does your back
Mia: okay (lays down on her stomach on the bed)
Jaden: I am going to lift your shirt now okay?
Mia: o okay (takes a deep breath in and out)
Mia's pov
I felt Jaden lift the shirt and my hands gripped onto the pillow I kept telling myself that he wasn't going to do anything over and over again because the truth was I knew he wasn't but my stupid mind gets triggered still anyway and there's still that fear in my mind that he's still going to try and hurt me somehow. I felt his hands grip firmly onto my shoulders and I tensed up but then calmed down when I felt the cold cream touch my back and soothe my scars, then I felt a pair of hands on my leg and I tensed up again. This was new usually they take turns and they do it one at a time to not overwhelm me but now they are doing it at the same time.

Mia: w what a are you g guys doing?
Nessa: shh just relax (massages her calf) your okay
Jaden: we are just trying something new (massages her lower back)
Mia: o o okay
A few minutes later
Nessa: okay turn over
Mia: w which o one a is g going to
Jaden: ness is and I am going to be right here the whole time, if you feel scared you can hold my hand but she's not going to hurt you
Mia: o o okay (turns around)
Mia's pov
I felt nessa's hand massage the cream into my skin from my lower leg and I was okay, then she did my knees and eventually she came up to my thighs. I tensed and grabbed onto Jaden's hand, I still wasn't used to Jaden massaging my thighs but having ness do it was a completely different sensation because she had nails that lightly scratched against my skin and it left me breathless and a weird but good feeling in my stomach, but as soon as it came it left because she was done.

Nessa: how did you feel having both of us massage you tonight?
Mia: it felt weird at first because instead of two hands on my skin it was four but it felt nice...
Jaden: you sure? We won't do it again if you didn't like it
Mia: n n no I I liked I promise (looks him in the eyes)
Jaden: okay I believe you
Mia's pov
Our moment came to end when there was knock on the door and Rafy came in with dinner which was salmon with rice. Fish okay I can handle fish and plus after purging both meals I had today, I shouldn't have a problem eating right? Rafy left the food on a mini table that Jaden and ness had in their room and we sat down and started eating. I ate half of the salmon and a little bit of the rice by myself and then I felt full.

Mia: I am full
Jaden: okay you did good today, I am proud of you
Nessa: you did? What did you eat?
Mia: I had uh waffles for breakfast and managed a whole burger for lunch and now this
Nessa: (smiles and kisses her cheek) good job princess I am proud of you too
Mia: yeah.. thanks, uh I am tired so I think I am going to head to sleep and I'll take my plate down to the sink
Jaden: don't worry about it, Rafy will come pick it up just get in bed
Mia: okay (stands up and is about to walk out of the room)
Nessa: where are you going?
Mia: to the room...
Nessa: no stay with us please? We enjoy cuddling with you and that way you won't have to worry about the nightmares
Mia: are you guys sure?
Jaden: yeah get in bed
Mia: okay
Mia's pov
I walked over to their bed and laid my head on the pillow and let my thoughts consume me. I felt guilty... I think I don't know I have never felt guilty before, but hearing ness and Jaden say how proud they were of me for eating and I just lied to them didn't feel so good. But I don't want to tell them the truth either ugh I decided to just stop thinking and close my eyes and was able to fall asleep when I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and pull me into their chest.
