Chapter 6

5 Am
Mia: STOP!! Please don't touch me!! Let me go, I don't want this please!!
Jaden's pov
I quickly sat up hearing Mia's ear piercing cries and turned on the lamp before lightly shaking her and trying to wake her up from whatever nightmare she was having and finally she sat up gasping. She looked around the room with terror in her eyes and started breathing heavy so I brought my hand up to rub her back but she flinched at my touch.

Jaden: shhh it's okay I am not going hurt you, it was just a dream your okay (starts rubbing her back) remember what I told you a few days ago?

Jaden: exactly some touches can actually be comforting now can you try and breathe with me?
Mia's pov
I looked at him and closed my eyes and focused on the circular rhythm that was going against my back right now and tried to control my breathing. In and out, in and out I kept telling myself but then my mind flashed back to the dream, his hands on skin, his bruising grip on my thighs as he thrusted in me without mercy. And my breathing accelerated, by now ness had woken up and I felt her grip onto my hands and rub circles on my wrist.

Nessa: look at me Mia, open your eyes and look at me, don't think about the dream you just had
(Mia slowly opens her eyes and starts to breathe evenly again)
Nessa: that's it good girl just keep looking at me and breathing
Mia: it took a few minutes but my breathing went back to normal and that's when I realized how the hoodie I was wearing was drenched and sweat and I felt gross, I stood up from the bed trying to get my shaking body under control.

Jaden: where are you going?
Mia: s s shower I I am all s sticky from sweating
Nessa: okay I'll bring you some clothes and put them in the bathroom
Mia: o okay t thank you
Nessa: your welcome, and you can shower in our bathroom it'll be better that way if anything happens we are right here
Mia: okay (starts walking to the bathroom and closes the door)
Jaden: this is the sixth night in a row that she hasn't gotten a decent amount of sleep ness
Nessa: I know but she's traumatized so what can we do?
Jaden: give her melatonin before she goes to bed?
Nessa: Jaden (puts her hands on her hips)
Jaden: it won't be for a long time, just for a couple days so she can sleep without waking up terrified
Nessa: and what happens if she becomes dependent on it to sleep?
Jaden: she won't like I said it's just for a few nights until we talk to griffin and see what he thinks, she needs to rest ness so she's at her best and you know that
Nessa: fine... but I don't like the idea
Jaden: it's not like we giving her a drug that can harm her, in fact it's over the counter it's not that big of a deal
Nessa: I know that, what I don't like is that we aren't telling her about it, she doesn't trust as it is what happens if she finds out?
Jaden: she won't I'll put it in her milk she'll never tell the difference
Nessa: fine you go do that while I get her some clothes from the room
Jaden: okay
(Jaden gets up from the bed and follows nessa out of the room)
Mia's pov
I took a nice long hot shower and let the heat distract me from the dream I had minutes ago. Don't think about it, don't think about it, don't think about it, thinking about it only makes it worse, thinking about it only causes a panic attack... don't think about it. A familiar stinging sensation brought me out of my thoughts and I looked down at my wrist and saw that I must have started scratching at them while I was in my thoughts... oops. I quickly put pressure on my wrist to stop the little bit of blood that had come out and finally decided to get out of the shower and wrap myself in a towel. I walked out of the bathroom to see ness laid out a pink long sleeve shirt for me with a pair of matching shorts and then laid back down on the bed, grabbed the tv remote and started scrolling through Disney plus and picking hocus pocus which was the only good memory I had from my childhood. Every Halloween the foster parents would play it and it was the one thing I was actually allowed to do with some of the other kids, I was too entertained into the beginning of the movie that when I heard the door open I flinched and almost got into a curling position, but seeing Jaden with a cup of hot chocolate helped me relax and I stop flinching.

Jaden: here I figured this will help you feel better (hands her the cup)
Mia: thanks (smiles and takes a sip) I forgot how good this tastes already
Jaden: (smiles) you can have some whenever you want that way you'll never forget the taste
(Mia just nods and takes another sip as nessa walks in)
Nessa: I just told Bryce and josh to handle all the business meetings tomorrow
Jaden: why?
Nessa: so we can spend time just the three of us
Jaden: well I like the sound of that, what do you think Mia?
Mia: hmm (nods her head and takes another sip)
Nessa: (gets on the bed and looks at the tv) what did you put on?
Mia: hocus pocus
Nessa: that's a classic but I prefer the nightmare before Christmas or corpse bride
Mia: those are good too
Mia's pov
I was halfway through my chocolate milk when I felt my eyes getting sleepy and I leaned my head on ness's shoulder since she was the closest. I went to take another sip but I felt too tired so before I could do anything that would make a mess Jaden grabbed the cup from me and I wrapped my arms around Nessa's and kept my head on her shoulder before closing my eyes and falling asleep.

Nessa: babe turn the tv off
Jaden: she's asleep?
Nessa: yeah (whispers)
Jaden: okay (grabs the remote and turns it off before looking at nessa) goodnight love
Nessa: night chicky (pecks him on the lips)
Hours later (11 Am)
Knock knock knock
Rafy: sir your breakfast is ready
(Jaden groans but walks over to the door and opens it)
Jaden: thanks Rafy but I think we are going to go out to eat so just worry about the rest of the guys
Rafy: okay no problem, have a good day (smiles)
Jaden: you too
Jaden's pov
Rafy walked away and I closed the door and turned to the two girls who were still sleeping but if we wanted to actually do something today then we need to get up, because if it were up to them they would sleep the day away and I don't want to use the only day off we have to do that. I walked over to ness and I kissed her forehead, then her nose and her cheek and finally her lips and she opened her eyes and smiled and ran her fingers through my hair.

Nessa: (smiles) good morning
Jaden: morning
Nessa: what time is it?
Jaden: eleven and I was thinking we can go out for breakfast today? What do you think?
Nessa: sounds good and then I was thinking we can go to the pier
Jaden: yeah that sounds good
Nessa: okay you start getting ready and I'll wake up Mia
Jaden: okay (stands up and walks to the closet)
Mia's pov
I felt fingers in my hair and I quickly sat up and saw it was only ness and I calmed myself down because usually when I feel fingers in my hair I am used to someone pulling it right after, but I have to remember ness isn't going to hurt me.

Nessa: you okay? I am sorry I didn't mean to scare you
Mia: I I know it it's okay I am j just used to getting m my hair pulled so I f flinched
Nessa: I am sorry you've been through so much I wish we met you sooner (strokes her cheek)
Mia: (blushes) y you guys a are here now
Nessa: yeah and no ones ever going to hurt you again I promise (hugs her)
Mia's pov
I am still not used to their hugs even though they manage to hug me more then once a day it still feels weird. I pulled away after a few seconds and then looked over at Jaden who was walking out with an orange tank top that showed off his arms and biceps with a pair of blue shorts and I had to stop myself from checking him out because ness was literally right next to me and I didn't want to be disrespectful so instead I moved my eyes away from him and stood up from the bed.

Mia: what are we doing today?
Nessa: breakfast and then the pier
Mia: okay I am going to get ready (stands up and walks out of the room)
Mia's pov
I walked into my room that I barely even sleep in and walked into the closet to look for something that I can wear to the pier. Even though it's hot shorts is a no go because my bruises are still visible so jeans it is and after looking at some I chose lavender colored jeans with a halter neck mint green top and a matching sweater to cover my arms since the bruises are still visible there too, then I decided to just leave my hair down and in curls, I put on some white adidas and I was ready to go. I walked out of the room and back to Jaden and Nessa's room where ness was wearing a white off the shoulder long sleeve crop top with black jeans and white sneakers... they looked normal like if they were walking down the street you would never think they were in the mafia, but I guess that's the point so they don't get caught one day. I was taken out of my thoughts by hearing Jaden call my name.

Jaden: ready to go?
Mia: yeah you guys?
Nessa: hmm let's go (grabs her phone and purse)
Mia's pov
I followed them out of the house and we got into Jaden's mustang, I sat in the back and ness sat in the passenger while Jaden drove. We started driving and I looked out the window just admiring the sun, trees and the clear blue sky, and I laid my head against the window still looking up at the sky.

Nessa: what are thinking about Mia?
Mia: how pretty the sky is
Nessa: yeah it is is really pretty today which is why after breakfast we are going to the pier
Mia: I haven't been to the pier before
Jaden: your going to love it, it's a lot of fun but first we are having breakfast on the beach
Mia: okay
Mia's pov
Jaden drove for another thirty minutes before parking the car in front of this restaurant that was right by the water, and not going to lie but I was low key nervous being so close to the water. What if I tripped and fell? I don't know how to swim and I drown? Or what if I get pushed into the water by someone then I am still screwed. I wanted to scold my mind for coming up with such stupid scenarios but I can't help it my brain is wired to believe worst case scenarios even if they don't sound realistic. I was taken out of my thoughts when I heard the car door open and looked up to see Jaden opened the door for me.

Jaden: you good love?
Mia: yeah just got lost in my thoughts but I am good let's go (gets out of the car)
Nessa: okay then
(The three of them start walking inside the restaurant and eventually the hostess walks up to them)
Hostess: hi welcome to water grill would you guys like to sit inside or on the water?
Jaden: on the water please
Hostess: okay follow me
Mia's pov
We followed the hostess to the back of the restaurant and when they said on the water they weren't kidding they had tables on platforms but they also had railings where the water is to obviously prevent from falling in or tripping and falling but it was still on the water so that didn't exactly help my nerves very much which is why ness asked me where I wanted to sit I sat in the chair facing the deck while Jaden and ness sat on the other chairs but still next to me. The hostess left and a few minutes later the waitress showed up with the menus and passed me one.

Nessa: do you want to split scrambled eggs and pancakes with me babe? (Looks at Jaden)
Jaden: yeah that sounds good, what about you Mia?
Mia: just the Cesar salad
Nessa: are you sure? You don't want anything else?
Mia: no I am good with just that
(Nessa looks at Jaden who thinks for a minute)
Jaden: fine but you have to promise to eat a good lunch and dinner
Mia: deal (smiles)
Jaden: okay good girl
(A few minutes later the waitress comes back to take their orders and the three of them start talking)
Mia: can I ask you something?
Nessa: yeah what's up?
Mia: what do you guys plan on doing with me?
Jaden: what do you mean?
Mia: like when I am all better and everything... are you going to send me back into the system?
Nessa: why would you think that? Have we done something to make you feel like that?
Mia: n no you g guys ha have d done the opposite... it's only been a two weeks but I am s starting t to feel a attached to you guys and I don't want to be if your just going to get rid of me at some point (looks down and plays with her fingers)
Jaden: hey Mia look at me (holds her hand and lifts her chin up to look him in the eyes) you are never going back into that system ever again, you can stay with us and be part of the gang and when you turn eighteen you can decide to stay or leave but until then your stuck with us okay? (Smiles)
Mia: okay (laughs)
Nessa: you have such a cute laugh
Mia: stop (blushes) your laugh is cuter
Nessa: are you kidding my laugh is the most high pitched annoying noise ever
Jaden: what are you talking about? I love your laugh it's not annoying it's cute
Mia: see even Jaden agrees with me
Nessa: yeah okay you guys are just being nice
Them: no
Mia: you should believe us trust me if anything my laugh is more annoying
Nessa: no it's not
Mia: agree to disagree
Jaden: how about you girls stop talking negative about yourselves and trust what I say?
(Nessa and Mia look at each other then back at Jaden)
Them: no
Jaden: worth a shot
(Ten minutes later the waitress walks over to them with the food)
Mia's pov
You can do this Mia it's just Cesar salad and we are in public so technically you have no choice you have to eat by yourself, you don't want to embarrass yourself by having Jaden feeding you in public do you? No so then just grab the fork and pick it up and put it in your mouth it's not that hard. So that's what I did I picked up the fork and one bite turned into two and two turned to three until I ate half the bowl which was the most I had Eaten in a really long time so when my stomach claimed to be full I stopped and put the fork down.

Mia: yeah is this okay?
Jaden: it's more then okay, I am really proud of you (kisses her cheek)
Mia: (blushes) thank you
Nessa: should we ask for the check then? I am done too
Jaden: yeah we still have stuff to do today so the quicker the better
Mia's pov
Ness asked for the check and the waitress came back five minutes later and we left the restaurant and I silently thanked god that I faced my fear with water... kind of of I have to swim one day, well we'll cross that bridge when we get there. The drive to the pier was a good forty five minutes since there was traffic but we finally got there and Jaden parked the car as usual and as we got out of the car some kids walked over to Jaden and nessa asking them for a picture, am I missing something here? Jaden and ness just agreed and gave them a hug and took the picture and I just looked at them like they had two heads I was so confused. Weren't they mafia leaders why would they want their picture being taken, they said bye to the teens and then walked back over to me.

Jaden: oh shoot we forgot to tell her babe

Nessa: so Jaden and I are kind of famous but not just in the you know world but in the real world too
Mia: how does that work? Doesn't everyone know who Jaden is?
Jaden: technically they know Jaden hossler, my famous name or alter ego is JXDN and since no one has ever seen Jaden hossler's face and they just know his name they'll never put two and two together plus no one would ever suspect a famous singer to work in the you know
Mia: oh wow why didn't you guys tell me??
Nessa: we weren't sure when the right time to tell you was...
Mia: what do you do?
Nessa: I sing too but I actually go by Nessa Barrett because the only thing cops know is that Jaden has a second partner but they don't know who that is or what gender
Mia: what about everyone else are they famous too?
Jaden: yeah josh is famous in the business world though which is why he's so good at making deals with people, Bryce is good at staying in the public eye so no one gets suspicious, Kio is a live streamer and gamer, griffin actually did go to medical school but never finished however he's in the business word with josh, Quinton sings like me and the rest are just influencers and still known to be in the public eye
Mia: wow I still have so much to learn about you guys
Jaden: yeah but you'll be sticking around with us so you'll learn everything you need to now let's go buy those tickets
(Starts walking to the kiosk)
Mia's pov
My mind was still processing the info I just found out and I couldn't believe he actually trusted me with it... not that I would do anything to betray them because they are literally the only people who have ever been nice to me and actually seem to care about me... that's still really weird for me to think about but I guess I'll have to get used to it eventually. I finally stopped thinking when I felt ness's hand on my shoulder pushing me towards the pier since Jaden bought the tickets already and I took in my surroundings and I stood in shock. There were rides everywhere including a Ferris wheel, there were game stands that had stuffed animals as prizes, I had seen what a fair looked like in pictures and have always wanted to go to one but I never thought it would actually happen but here I am.

Jaden: so where do you want to go first?
Mia: I don't know I have never been here before
Nessa: let's do some rides! (Pulls her hand and they start walking up to a roller coaster)
Mia: why is it so big? And don't tell me we are actually going to fall from that height (looks up)
Jaden: it's called a drop and yes we are but don't worry you can sit in the middle of us so you feel more protected
Mia: okay...
Nessa: this is going to be fun (smiles and looks at them)
Mia: I am falling to my death
Nessa: no you aren't trust me you'll love the adrenaline rush
Mia's pov
Can't say ness was wrong because she was right I loved the adrenaline rush, granted I still screamed my head off during a drop or a loop de loop because I wasn't expecting it but other then that the ride was a lot of fun. We did all of the rides and then decided to play some games, needless to say I lost every single one of them, don't judge it's not like I have played any of these games before especially the one where you have to get a little ball inside a glass jar. However when it was Jaden and Nessa's turn they won each game and Jaden gave me a dog and nessa gave a stuffed giraffe and then Jaden won her a big pig that was bigger then the two of us so we had to walk back to the car and put them in inside before walking back to the pier and deciding to go on the Ferris wheel since the sun was starting to set. Jaden and ness sat next to each other but didn't make me feel like a third wheel because Jaden held my hand when we got to the top since I was afraid of heights. So I kept my eyes closed so I wouldn't look down.

Mia: is it over yet?
Nessa: open your eyes and just look up it's really pretty I promise
Mia: no no nope (shakes her head and the chair rocks back and forth) what what is that why are we moving? Is it broken are we stuck!?
Jaden: no we aren't stuck, we are okay just open your eyes you don't have to look down just look at me and ness okay?
Mia's pov
There must be something hypnotizing about their eyes because every time they tell me to look at them it's like I become under a spell and I do it. Why? I don't know maybe it's because his crystals give me a calm feeling or her emeralds hold such brightness in them that I feel if I look at them maybe that happiness will transfer over to me somehow. So I open my eyes and just like that body relaxes from the nerves I was feeling ago and I didn't bother looking at the ground because I was to busy looking at the both of them and they were looking at me. Jaden and ness looked at each other and then back at me and Jaden pressed his lips to mine, I was frozen for a minute and when I felt like he was going to pull away because he wasn't reciprocating I finally felt movement in my body again and I started kissing him back. And then our moment got torn away because the Ferris wheel started moving again and just like that it was over and it felt like it didn't happen in the first place. The walk back to the car was quiet and for a minute I felt like nessa was mad that I kissed her boyfriend in front of her but then I remembered he looked at her like he was asking permission to kiss me and she gave him it. Ugh what's happening my mind is spinning and I don't know what to do, the car ride was longer then usual and I felt my eyes droopy and I closed them. The next time I opened them It was because ness was lightly shaking me and in my groggy half asleep state I stood up but stumbled until Jaden picked me up in his arms and brought me upstairs to the room and my eyes adjusted to the light and I felt myself becoming a little more awake.

Nessa: I am going to take a bath I feel sweaty from today
Jaden: how about we all take a bath
Mia: y you m mean t the three of us?
Jaden: only if your comfortable I don't want to pressure you into anything your uncomfortable with

I thought about it and if I bring honest my body was to tired physically and I didn't feel like washing myself so if taking a bath with them meant I could relax then fuck it why not.

Nessa: are you sure?
Mia: yeah (stands up from the bed)

Mia's pov
We walked into the bathroom and instead of going to the shower we walked towards the tub which was literally the size of a jacuzzi and even had a jet for bubbles. I started to take off the shirt that I was wearing but when I saw ness was already topless I felt insecure because I was nowhere near pretty like she is so I stopped halfway and pulled my shirt back down.

Jaden: yeah (takes his shorts off and then his shirt) do you want me to it?

Jaden: okay (gets in the water and wraps his arms around Nessa's waist)
Mia's pov
I took off my shirt, bra, jeans and underwear and felt super insecure and vulnerable with all my scars and bruises visible, but when I looked up at Jaden and ness the only thing I saw in there eyes was care. So I uncrossed my arms and slowly made my way over to the tub and stuck my foot in the hot water and the rest of my body just followed until the three of us were in the bath. I was about to grab the bar of soap when Jaden grabbed it from me and I looked at him confused.

Mia: hmm (nods her head)

I know that I had thought about that a few minutes ago but to be fair I didn't actually think that would be an option which is why I grabbed the bar of soap, but here is he asking me to let him wash me. I would be lying if I said I didn't want yo feel his hands on my skin which is why I said...

Jaden's pov
I smiled at her and rubbed the soap into my hands and started with her arms, I could tell she was trying really hard to not flinch and I couldn't help but let myself smile because I knew how much strength that took. Then I moved down to her chest which was a B cup so it wasn't as big as Nessa's but I could still grab it with the palm of my hand if I wanted too. Stop it Jaden now isn't the time to be thinking like that so I quickly moved from her chest to her stomach and then her legs bit when I got to her pussy she stopped me which I understood... she wasn't ready for me to touch her there yet and I told her we would go at her pace and we did. After she was done washing her area she gave me back the soap and I washed her back and did a little massage on her shoulders. After her body was done she let ness wash her hair and then we quickly washed ourselves and got out and each wrapped a towel around our bodies. Since I was the first one dressed I went downstairs to see Rafy had made chicken Marsala with a side of rice so I grabbed three plates and then grabbed the melatonin and mixed it with the rice on Mia's plate. Even though she was pretty tired she might sleep through the night without any problems, but I also didn't want to take that chance since she had a long day and I don't want her waking up from a nightmare.

Once ness and I were dressed we were sitting on the bed and a few minutes later Jaden came in with dinner and he set my chicken on the plate. This time I didn't care to eat so he alternated between taking a bite himself and giving me one until half the rice was eaten and a few pieces of chicken were left. I laid my head on the pillow and eventually the sleepiness took over me and I closed my eyes.
