Carved lines only grew as fall shivered outside

Her shriveled fingers couldn't hold the tip that wrote letters of night

Eyes of walnut only stared at crushed dead leaves

Her gaunt face couldn't turn away from the shaggy crow that still breathes

'One mistake after another, why wait today?

You will become its feast eventually anyway.'

She wore her black heart under rainbow veils

Lilac gloves masked the violet veins

Somber mist surrounded her dangling limbs

They danced to the loud tunes of dismal hymns

'How long will you listen to mournful melodies on your own?

I shall be blameless for the destruction of your unturned stones.'

But her glass tears shattered one bright morn'

Auburn petals caressed them as they were torn

'Oh, do you see those flustered cheeks and damp eyes?

Finally, you removed that amber shield of lies.'

Her sharp breaths still pumped the coal heart

'Do not worry, you still have to walk the same ghostly path.'

Come the next day, her rainbow veil fell on again

'Do not worry, you still have to bear the same sinister pain.'

The autumn winds howled in the midst of her fiery turmoils

Grey pebbles scratched the dug-up poppy seeds in the scarlet soil

Sun ate silver stars but nothing changed

Winter drank rosy springs but nothing ever changed

'Dear, your moor of a jewel will never be mined

An inauspicious parchment you had been forced to sign.'

Terrors still trap her head on sleepless nights

Insomnia still wraps her body in scenes of trite

'Ah, just another one of those terrible tragedies

And I promise to you, my friend,

This world will always find a way to weave its tales of brutality.'
