Chapter 24: The Belly of the Weblum

The paladins were all gathered on the bridge, Shiro and Kolivan discussing preparations and plans. Everyone was listening intently to the plans. Everyone except Hunk, who was asleep in his chair, snoring like a train.

"Ah! What did I miss?" He jumped up as he startled himself awake.

"Oh nothing important, we just found a way to defeat Zarkon." Lance replied.

"Wait really? I was asleep for ten minutes and you found a way to stop the forces of evil?"

"Uh, Hunk. You've been asleep for three hours." Phoebe corrected him.

He grinned at Phoebe, and then he gazed over to the rest of the group. They were gathered around a hologram of Zarkon's main command ship.

"I . . . Think we might have something here." Shiro said with enthusiasm. "Its dangerous, and there are a lot of moving parts, but if we coordinate everything just right then . . ."

"Zarkon's reign will come to an end. And the savagery that has poisoned our universe can finally be cleansed." Kolivan cut in. "You did it Shiro."

"No, we did it together." Shiro reached out his hand to Kolivna, who gladly accepted. Allura watched as they shoke hands.

"As long as we all stick to the plan, it should work." Allura added.

"It will work. And maybe then you will learn that not all Galra are as bad as Zarkon." Kolivan replied.

Allura looked over at Keith, who was examining the plans laid out. She then turned her gaze over to Phoebe, who she noticed was looking in her direction. Ever since the clash between the two they hadn't really talked much.

"Ulaz was right to trust you all." The blade said to the paladins.

"He sacrificed everything to bring us together. Let's honor him by taking down Zarkon." Shiro replied.

"So, what's the plan?" Hunk asked as he, Phoeb, and Lance walked over to join the others.

"The plan is amazing! First, we infect Zarkon's ship with a virus." Lance started to explain as he tapped the hologram, turning it red. "Then we make an extra large wormhole and lure Zarkon into it, zapping him a bazillion light years away!" Lance excitingly threw the hologram out of sight. "Then when he pops out on the other side like 'oh, what happened? My ship won't work then Voltron will kick its butt!" Lance proceeded to punch and kick the hologram of the ship. "Yay! We win for all time!!!"

"Wow . . . Cool down on the theatrics lover boy." Phoebe motioned for him to calm down.

"Wow, so this is it." Hunk said in disbelief.

"The only question is, when do we strike?" Pidge asked.

"Once we build a teladuv big enough to teleport Zarkon's ship." Coran replied.

"Oh, not the teladuv again." Hunk sighed. "Does that mean we need more scultrite?"

"That's just one of the many things we'll need." Allura replied.

"Foe this plan to succeed, we're gonna need to split up. We all have a task to do." Coran explained. "Keith, Phoebe, Hunk, you three will be in charge of getting the scultrite. If anything one of us fails, the entire plan fails."

After everyone got assigned their tasks Keith, Hunk and Phoebe got ready to leave for their task. Everyone gathered in the yellow lion's hangar to bid farewell.

"Be careful out there." Shiro said as he gave Phoebe a hug.

"Is that an order, sir?" Phoebe laughed as she smiled at the paladin. "Don't worry, I will."
