A girl slept soundless in her bed. Her black hair shined in the early morning sun that filtered through the sheer curtains. A small trail of drool left the corner of her mouth as she turned to face away from the bright light.

A small, winged lemur snuck its way into the room through the window by nudging its head to open it more. It swooped down to land on the bed. It circled a spot in front of the girl before finding a comfortable enough position to lay down. It yelped in surprise when the girl grabbed it and snuggled closer to it.

"Good morning, Nini," the girl greeted softly to the animal. "Let's go sleep." The lemur didn't put up much of a fight as it fell asleep alongside.

A loud knock echoed through the room, emanating from the wooden door. "C'mon, get up. We gotta train," a gruff voice spoke through the door.

"No, let me sleep," the girl whined quietly as she dug herself more into the covers.

"I'm not taking no for answer. Get up, Lyra," the voice sounded again.

Lyra covered her head with the cream-colored covers to block out the light, and hopefully the voice too.

But her efforts proved to be futile as the voice spoke again, but in a much softer tone. "Your dad and uncle are coming in thirty minutes."

Now this got the girl's attention. She shot straight up and hurriedly stumbled out the bed, possibly accidently stepping on the lemur's tail as it let out a scream of pain, and slammed the door open with air.

The Chinese man dressed in green robes with a leather belt fastened around his waist looked down at the girl as he towered over her with his height. He narrowed his eyes as he spotted the train of dried drool on her chin. He cleared his throat as he looked into her eyes.

Lyra quickly wiped it away with the sleeve of her red and gold Gryffindor sweater that she stole from her dad. "Well? What about Dad?" she questioned urgently.

"Good morning to you too, Lyra," he said dryly.

"Good morning, Master Fuh." She rushed those words out her mouth as quickly as possible.

The man in green looked down at her and gave her a small smile followed by an even smaller chuckle. "Your dad and uncle are coming in thirty minutes," he repeated to her.

She grinned excitedly. She grabbed her lemur's arms as she spun the poor animal around the room. Her brown eyes shined brightly as excitement filled her body. Lyra hasn't seen her dad in weeks as traveling between Britian and California in the United States was incredibly difficult and strenuous on the human body. However, that also meant they both would be here for a while.

"Someone's getting the guest rooms ready for their arrival, but I suggest you get ready," Master Fuh spoke in his deep voice. "Breakfast will be served in twenty." He turned to walk away only to pop his head back in. "Oh and clean your room. And no magic." With that, he turned away and walked down the hall.
