A few days later they had a funeral to honor their dead and Kion managed to convince Simba to hold a funeral for the dead outlanders, even Kovu's mom. After the funeral, Kovu was alone in the royal den crying his eyes out. Kion came in and sat down next to Kovu trying to comfort him, He kept saying that it's out everything will be alright, and eventually he calmed down and stopped crying. The next morning they went out for a walk around the pridelands but when they got to the border of the outlands they decided to go into Kovu's original home and pay their respects to his psychopath of a mother. After they paid their respects they went back to the pridelands, they had thought about it a lot and finally decided to tell Simba, Nala, and Kirara about their relationship. They took it surprisingly well considering all that had happened and after a few months, Kovu and Kion got married. Kion finally got control over his powers and Kovu got over his mother's death.
