After Laura's 15 minute journey of dashing through cars and speaking to angry wardens, she finally made it to the Burghley campus. Luckily on the Friday nothing really happened so you wouldn't have to walk very far unlike the cross country, this was great as waking up at 6am every morning for 6 weeks was very tiring, as you'd imagine. Friday was full of drinks, dressage, shopping and fun, so before heading over to watch some dressage, Laura made her way to her absolute favourite shop.It was a traditional that every year she would start her shopping spree at HY Equestrian. She loved everything about it and as being a successful eventer with a future goes, she was lucky enough to say that she was a sponsored rider for them. So I guess that the whole story about Laura hasn't been revealed yet: from the age of 13 Laura started to become really good at riding and would compete almost every weekend, because of this she needed a way to track her problems so she could fix them, and as she wanted to start a YouTube channel anyway, her family decided to try it out. After a year or so she gained 2500 subscribers and once she was 15 she had 100,000 subscribers. Since then she has become rather popular and many brands have reached out to her, Laura, in her good heart only got in touch with brands that she really believed in. Because Laura was competing so regularly, she got to meet brands and her subscribers all the time, which meant that she trusted people more and really enjoyed the experience of owning her very own channel. So before Laura did any shopping of her own, she had a meet up planned for all of her fans at HY Equestrian.
Walking away from the HY tent, Laura was filled with happiness, everyone was so nice to her and she even got some nice presents from them! Then she took herself on an extended shopping trip, some of her favourite things that she picked up were, a lovely new pair of gloves and even a new hat for showjumping. After this she left her things with the HY team and headed over to arena 1 to watch some masterful dressage for the rest of the day. Although it wasn't her favourite discipline, Laura loved to watch the fluidity in the horses movements and how beautiful they were. As usual, she wrote down all about the duo; who they were, their score, where they were from, how well known they are, and much more. The first partnership that really stood out to Laura was a Rider called Roger Finash with his lovely bay stallion, Cruel's Gold. They worked together so well and they managed to pull off an unimaginable 12.35 score. By the end of the day this pair was in 3rd position, in a great way to go into cross country tomorrow.
As the crowds started to disperse, Laura collected her things and walked back home. It was always handy that Burghley House was only 15 minutes away, it meant that she could sneak in every day if she wanted and watch people practice, taking note of their technique and what they could've done better so she could be prepared for when she could finally compete at her favourite horse event, though she would only do this about once a week!
At home she got changed into her horsey clothes, dumped her things and made her way to the stables. It was coming to the end of the day and the sun swam under the horizon, causing they light to fade, casting shadows on the hills. Laura always watched the sun fall with her horses, it was the time of day she loved most and appreciated. Never, not even in Arctic conditions and boiling temperatures had she missed one of these sacred nights watching the stars appear before taking her horses into their stables. It made her value every moment of her life, and gave her a sense of fulfilment too. That night Laura went straight to bed after a long old day and slept right until...
