Dear Louis,

Your latest letter made me laugh so much. I love that you can go from being deep and serious to cracking jokes the next second. I love that combination with you. You use humor as a coping mechanism but you can also be serious when it's called for. The perfect blend.

I had a great day off! I found some nice things in the stores, even got you something. Dinner was wonderful. I went out with Mitch and Sarah and you know what? I think they're into each other. I really hope they'll fall in love. They would be so perfect for each other. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know how that will unfold.

A candlelit dinner sounds perfect even if you do the cooking. Sorry honey, you know I love you but I can't figure out how you can be so disastrous in the kitchen? I think we need to do more romantic things together, like date nights. Make an effort, you know? I enjoy a quiet one at home just the two of us but let's make it exciting once in a while? Dress up, hire a restaurant or a movie theatre, simple but fun things. I don't know. Maybe that's stupid. We do have our own movie theatre in our basement.

Yes! Let's get a dog! That would be awesome. Why haven't we thought about that before? I would probably name it Candy or Cookie or something like that but you can choose. I like Clifford.

So my question is, what kind of dog do you want? I'm thinking something cute and fluffy.

dear hazza,
that's a nickname i haven't used since we were younger, you use to love it, you said it made you feel loved. thought i'd bring it back for old times sake sweetheart.

yes, the notebook is a decent movie honey, you're obsession with it is the cutest thing ever. truly some of my fondest memories of you are with that movie playing in the background.

two new songs! how exciting, can't wait for you to play them to me! what are they about? are they happy? sad? god, i'm dying to hear them darling. i've written some songs too, all about you of course haha my little muse. one is called 'habit' and it's a bit sad but i think the general message will make sense. that's all i'm telling you right now, the rest is a surprise!

i genuinely love how excited i get about showing you my music or when you show me yours. i'm always buzzing for your reaction and know that you're always proud of me. i hope with my first album i can show you how important you are to me. you make me a better person too, and i love how lovely you are.

stunts suck but it's something we have to deal with. at the end of the day, we can't let them get to us and i've slowly but surely started to realise that. you love me, and i love you, that's all that matters. no stunt will be able to pull us apart. i'm sure that sometimes my jealously will get the better of me, i'm not a saint, but i promise it won't be as bad this time 'round.

my favourite knock-knock joke of yours? oh god harry, there's so many it hurts haha. i think i enjoy seeing the look on your face more than the actual jokes love. your silly little grin when you tell that 'cow who?' 'no, a cow goes moo' joke. it's how proud you are of it that makes me die of laughter darling. no offence, i just prefer you over the actual jokes baby.

my question for you is:
what is a song that reminds you of me?
there are endless songs that remind me of you. there's actually a song i co-wrote with niall that you never knew about. he ended up putting it on his album, but he promised not to tell you about it. it was in 2017 and we were constantly fighting and being cold to one another so when i met up with him one day we went into his living room and he brought out his guitar and notebook. i wrote down everything that came to mind and let everything out. Niall ended up loving the song and made the title his Album title.
so yeah, if you ever want to re-listen to 'flicker', that's about you.

alright darling, i'm off to the studio to record some stuff with Liam. we might even call up niall if he wants to join so that will be fun! i feel a rush of inspiration recently because of these letters and it's an amazing feeling after years of writers block.
