"OI PRONGS, STOP IT!""Ow! You imbecile!"
"Guys, you're going to wake Peter up" Remus shushed the rowdy boys who were wrestling for the bag of Ben's every flavor jelly beans.
"You heard him, let's not wake up Peter because then say bye bye to the candy" Sirius shot a stern look to James.
"Yes you're right. He's better of asleep", he sighed as he adjusted his glasses.
A small groan was heard in the compartment making all three heads turn to look at Peter who was curled up in the corner. Hugging his jumper to his chest.
"Ohh, may I have some?" Peter yawned, making Sirius and James groan loudly. Remus rolled his eyes at his friends antics.
He checked his wrist watch, closed his book and then turned to his friends, "it's almost time for the prefects meeting, you guys should already be changed in your school robes".
Peter who was upset for the lack of Jelly Beans in his stomach, stood up and began to gather his things. "You're right, Remus." After another stern glance from the tall boy, Sirius and James followed suit.
"Hey, want to bet that Carrow didn't make it prefect?" James said to Remus who was the last one to get out of the compartment, closing the door behind him.
"You're on, mate. Four galleons that she did make it".
Just because she was his academic rival doesn't mean she's not smart. On the contrary, Remus thought that Megaera was quite brilliant, which is the reason why it annoyed him. She was as smart as him, and she knew it. She would often taunt him because of it and that's what Remus hated.
Remus might the responsible one out of The Marauders, but he was always down for a good gamble. Especially if it involved Carrow.
Megaera knew she needed to head to the prefects meeting, so without saying goodbye to the Slytherins she sat with, she went out to the corridor.
People stared at her as she went by, she was already used to the stares, what she wasn't used to was to pity and concerned glances.
Did she really looked that bad?
She faltered in her step, craning her head to look behind her, trying to figure out the meaning behind a warm smile that a Hufflepuff gave her, when she ran into a hard body.
She was accidentally slammed into a wall because of the collision, she hissed in pain. After endless nights of punishments her back was covered in brushes, resembling a galaxy, courtesy of her parents. She couldn't wait to see Lily so that she could aid her.
The body Megaera collided with didn't seem much affected as her as it kept it's stance, much to her dismay.
"Don't tell me you made it prefect?" James whined, bummed out because he just lost 4 galleons.
The black haired witch had to close her eyes and take a sharp intake of air to bear with the pain, which didn't go unnoticed to the tall boy in front of her.
She felt that the effect of this recent collision lasted at least a minute, but it only lasted like half a second. Nevertheless, it was enough time for Remus to catch it by the corner of his eye.
After she took a second to compose herself, Megaera just stared blankly at James. She didn't have the energy to deal with this right now. She needs Lily to hug her and reassure her that everything would be alright, even though both witches knew better. What she doesn't need is an immature boy with no sense of a filter to question her of her academic achievements.
