MEGAERA HASN'T HAD A REPAIRING SLEEP IN WHAT FELT LIKE YEARS. And it kind of has always been that way. It's what living in the Carrow household does to you.

Always looking behind your back and experiencing trauma every second of the day.

That's why Megaera dreaded the holidays.

With stress of the upcoming meeting with the Dark Lord in two months time and normal school stress, her body has been screaming for a much needed break.

The Slytherin has been experiencing hair loss from lack of nutrients. Even though Lily has tried her best to get Megaera to eat, there's so much food the red head can smuggle without it being suspicious or getting caught.

Megaera on the other hand has been working on the other end of the deal and has been trying to help herself overcome those negative thoughts and improve her relationship with food, alongside the tremendous help from her Gryffindor best friend.

For the reasons previously presented, the black haired witch has been experiencing lightheadedness and mild fainting, not as frequently as she would experience it back at the Manor —especially when you add physical abuse in the mix— but for that she was thankful.

Megaera has taken a liking for naps. Even though sometimes her nightmares would present themselves during them, it wasn't as frequent. Usually her nightmares would take place during the night, when she's trying to get rest for the next day ahead.

Nights have become restless for Megaera Carrow.

That why every minute during her free time counts. She has a free period? An hour long nap. She has fifteen minutes to spare? A fifteen minutes nap.

Megaera has learned to be grateful for even a five minute rest if it meant to be nightmare free. It was truly a blessing.

To begin with, Megaera had two hours to spare before dinner. She decided to take a quick nap but ended up oversleeping and the supposed two hour nap turned into a four hour nap, making her not only miss dinner but barely be on time for her night patrol.

But for the first time—and probably the only time—in her life, Alecto accidentally helped her.

What Megaera woke up to wasn't her shrilly alarm clock. She woke up to her sister pounding on her door.

"Megaera open the door in this instance!" Alecto yelled from the other side.

The younger sister immediately jolted awake, breathing frantically, she turned to her nightstand and saw the time.

Shit, shit, shit.

She tried to flattened her robes in an attempt to look presentable. Forgetting her cloak, she thrusted open her room door only to be met with the annoyed face of her sister.

"Alecto" she acknowledged her sister.

"Where were you at dinner?"

"As you can see I fell asleep". She responded curtly, gesturing to her wrinkled robes.

Alecto took her sweet time analysing her younger sister, trying to catch any signs of her not telling the truth but she saw none.

She pursued her lips, "So you had nothing to eat?"

Megaera clenched her jaw at her sister's words, "No, I did not".

Satisfied with her response, the older Carrow nodded.

"Now, if you excuse me, I've night patrols to cover that I'm already late to as it is." Megaera shoved her shoulder into her sister's and quickly made her way out of the dungeons with her head held up high.
