I was having a mental breakdown.

I paced my room, hands on my neck and lip getting abused by my teeth. I had about thirty minutes before Chase got here but, I really didn't care at the moment. Right now I was freaking out about something completely different.

Let's start at the beginning, shall we? The first thing to happen was, for some fricking reason, I had been worried about what Kyle would think of me after hearing my past. The second thing was I came home after seeing him and my heart was beating like a teenage girl with her first crush. Then, to make everything worse, I had fallen asleep and dreamed about the bastard! But, I'm not gay!

I sat down on my bed and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I looked like a train wreck. My hair was a mess from sleeping and not fixing it when i woke up, my clothes were wrinkled, and my eyes looked red and stressed. I groaned in frustration and stood up to pace again.

I would have to avoid him. Keep my distance until I know what's going on with me. Maybe stay away forever if things got worse.

I chewed on my bottom lip and ran a hand through my hair. This was very bad. I heard a car door shut and ran to my window. "Shit!" I muttered, seeing Chase walking up the drive.

I didn't not want to deal with him right now.

I grabbed a comb and quickly fixed my hair and then ran to get Macey. She was playing with her dolls when I walked in the room. "Jackass is here." I said as I poked my head in.

She looked up. "Who?"

"Chase. Who else? Come on before we get in trouble."

She nodded and placed her doll on her bed. Then she stood up and ran to give me a hug. I squeezed her and ruffled her hair. Then I took her hand and we walked downstairs.

My Aunt was just opening the door for Chase. He greeted her with a smile and she smiled back. "Hello! Come right in!"

"Or stay out." I mumbled.

He turned to me. "Good to see you too, Kayson. Thank you for inviting me to your beautiful home."

I gave him a look. "Let's get one thing straight. I didn't invite you and you are not welcome here."

"Kayson!" My Aunt scolded. I ignored her and walked to the table to sit down. Macey smiled at Chase before following me to the table.

I crossed my arms and glared at him as he sat down next to my Aunt. I sat next to my sister, my legs propped up on the seat next to me so no one could sit down.

Chase went over the usual things. Food, clothing, education. All stuff he wanted to make sure we were doing on a daily basis. I zoned out for most of it, not really listen to him.

My thoughts were on Kyle and my dream.

***Flashback***

I walked along an alley by myself. Then there was a dark figure in front of me. Bert walked out of the shadows. "Ready to be mine again?"

I stepped back. "You know my answer to that." I said.

He shrugged and walked towards me. "But, I could change it if I want."

He backed my into a wall and licked my cheek making me flinch. "You know what you want. All I have to do is show you." He whispered into my ear.

In a daze, I reached up and hugged him. He smirked and hugged me back, satisfied with my answer.

Then i heard a familiar voice down the other side of the alley. "Kayson. It's not right and you know it. He'll only cause you trouble."

I snapped out of my trance and saw Kyle. Bert growled at the disturbance and pulled away. "He made his choice so get lost."

Kyle ignored him and kept his eyes on me. "There's a better option. There's always a better option." He said holding out his hand.

I stared at it and slowly started walking towards him. Bert grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. "You barely know him! Why would you choose him over someone you know?" He hissed.

I looked between the two of them. Then i gave Bert a cold look. "Because I know you. I'm not going to fall for your trap again."

I ripped my hand away and ran towards Kyle. I faintly heard Bert yell that what I was doing was a mistake but, I didn't listen and grabbed Kyle's hand. He smiled and pulled me into a hug.

Then I felt his fingers on my chin, lifting my face to his...

***Flashback ends***

My ears grew warm and I sunk lower in my chair, attempting to hide my, probably very red, face. Unfortunately, Chase seemed to notice my slow sinking under the table and tilted his head. "Is everything alright over there?"

I nodded, keeping my face down. He frowned. "Are you feeling okay?"

"I'm fine." I gritted through my teeth.

He stood up and walked around the table. He was about to reach forward and feel my forehead but, I slapped his hand away and stood up. "I would appreciate it if you kept you hands to yourself." I said.

He looked surprised. "I was just-"

I walked out of the room before he could finish. I had no intention of listening to his excuses. I walked out the front door and kept going until I was at the park.

I glanced around to make sure the dark park was empty before jumping down into the ditch and walking along the edge until I found what I was looking for. A small cave that wasn't visible from the street.

I slipped inside and sat down at the back. I had found this place when I had been playing at the park when I was younger. My dad had been chasing me and I found this when i slipped and fell down the ditch.

My dad was still up in the park so i ran inside and hid, giggling when he walked past me scratching his head.

I had memorized the place so I could come back whenever I wanted to. It had become my safe haven for the times when I needed a break. As far as I knew, no one else knew about this place.

I sighed and put my head in my hands. I didn't feel guilty for saying what I said to Chase but, I did feel a little immature for walking out like I did.

I leaned against the wall and closed my eyes, breathing slowly to calm the stress of everything. I needed a plan. I couldn't hang out with Kyle anymore. It was to dangerous to my sexuality.

I thought for a long time before I nodded and opened my eyes. I would just have to avoid him. Cut our friendship.
