Someone save me please...

I stood with my hands in my pockets as I waited to get called in by the principal. I racked my brain, trying to think of why I'd get called in. As far as I remembered I hadn't punched anyone, cheated on any tests, or insulted a teacher.

I sighed as I realized I was going in blind. This was going to suck majorly. After a few more agonizing minutes alone with the secretary the principal poked his head out of his office. "You can come in now, Kyle."

I took a deep breath and stepped into the brightly lit room and the principal shut the door. "Have a seat."

I fidgeted nervously but, did as I was told and took a seat in front of his desk. He sat down on the other side and crossed his arms. "You've been doing very well in all your subjects recently."

I didn't say anything. I didn't exactly know what to say anyways. He leaned back in his chair. "Almost hundreds on all your tests."

"Sir, if this is another cheating acusation, I can-"

"Please, let me finish, Kyle." He cut me off and I shut my mouth. He waited to make sure I didn't continue before saying, "I want you to tutor one of the other students."

I stared at him then I frowned. "What? I can't do that. I-"

He cut me off again and said, "Yes, and you will. It will be extra credit and you'll graduate sooner. I've already spoken with your guardians and they agree with me."

"But-" I gripped the arms of my chair and started to stand. The principal held up a hand. "I know how you feel about other students but, with your grades lately I can't ask anyone else. Besides, the particular student you will be tutoring really needs the help."

I sat back and stared up at the ceiling. This couldn't be happening. I couldn't tutor. I didn't want to tutor. I had no interest in helping another student get better grades. This wasn't even my business.

"To be honest, I wasn't expecting to ask you. I had to call the students guardian and she said that you'd be perfect for his tutoring him since you both seem to get along well."

"Get along well?"

"That's what I was told." He sighed. "Take this opportunity to get closer to college and be his tutor. Your first lesson is tomorrow, after school."

I realized I didn't have a choice and clenched my teeth. I stormed out off the office and out of the school. I could care less if I missed the rest of my classes. I didn't want to be anywhere near whatever student I would be tutoring.

(Kayson's POV)

I purposely slept in the next day and asked my Aunt to take my sister to school, saying I didn't feel well. Thankfully, it worked and I got to stay home.

I didn't want to see Kyle. After the past evening... I never wanted to see his asshole face again. I wanted nothing more than to punch him a few hundred times and then throw him into a lake to drown.

I stuffed my head deeper under my pillow and clenched my fists into the sheets. I was doing my best to scorch the image of the boy leaning on a desk with a girl's arms wrapped around his neck.

Finally, after laying in bed for another twenty minutes I sat up and stomped downstairs. I pulled down a bowl and gabbed some cheerios. I pulled out the milk and filled the bowl halfway. Then I went to living room and plopped down on the couch.

I switched on the TV, barely seeing what was on and ate my food slowly. I didn't want to but, I gradually let my mind wander to distant memories. It helped keep my mind of Kyle.

***Flashback***

I sat at the police station with a sleeping Macey in my arms. Auntie was talking to some guy in another room. I could see lots of other people walking around behind a glass door but, none of them seemed to take notice of me and Macey.

I hugged my sister tighter when a old lady and an old man walked in. They sat down next to me and I scooted away. The lady glanced at me and smiled sadly. "Is your mommy here?"

I looked away and shook my head slowly. "No... She's..." I tried to think of what my Auntie had told me. "In a better place."

The lady's face grew much sadder and she gave me a pat on the head. "My daughter and her husband are there too. Maybe they'll become friends."

I nodded. "Do you think they're happy?"

She smiled again. "Absolutely. The only thing they could be upset about is missing their cute little boy and girl."

She was quiet for a minute but, then said, "Want to meet my daughter's little boy?"

I looked up at her. "How old is he?"

"He's eleven this year. How old are you?"

"I'm eleven too." I smiled a little thinking about meeting someone my age. "Where is he?"

"He's watching his little sister in the car. Do you want me to bring him in so you can talk to him?"

I nodded and she whispered something the old man. He got up and left and a few minutes later came in with a little boy and a little girl next to him.

The boy wasn't smiling and he didn't look happy. "This is my daughter's little boy and girl."

I watched them closely. "What's his name?"

"His name is-"

***Flashback ends***

"Kayson?!"

I jerked awake and stared up at my Aunt. She was nealing next to me. "Are you okay?! I've been trying to wake you for the last hour!"

For the first couple seconds I just stared at her. "Auntie..." Then I sat up and wiped my eyes. "What happened?" I asked.

She frowned. "I came home and saw you sleeping on the couch. I found it odd that you'd sleep in such a place so I tried to wake you. After trying several times I started to panic. Did you fall alseep here?"

I still felt drowsy and tried to stand. "I guess..."

My legs felt like jelly and I knew why. I'd had that same dream before and it had always made me feel like this. It'd never gone on for that long though. It didn't ever get past when I first met the lady.

"Kayson?"

I looked at my Aunt and shook my head. "I'm fine... I'm going to go take a nap. I need to get stuff out of my head."

I got up in a daze and walked up the stairs. My Aunt seemed confused by my actions but, I didn't wait for her to ask. I closed my door and put my head in my hands. "A little boy...? I don't remember his name..."
